The shred messengers (euros 2004)

Post by pillar »

So after couple days of not doing anything else than editing I bring you 'the shred messengers'! I am new to making footbag videos, so please excuse any mistakes etc. I hope I got all the players names right!!

http://freecache.org/http://www.footbag ... _hires.wmv

http://freecache.org/http://www.footbag ... lowres.wmv

Technical statistics: The video is compressed with WMV9, Length: 15min, Hi-res takes 109mb and Lo-res takes 31mb. I will strongly recommend the higher resolution.

The footage was filmed during European Championships 2004 in Denmark, but we had a very limited footage to choose from (we just couldn't resist to play as well!). So the good players missing are missing only because we simply did not have any material of them. So this is just a glimpse of what was going on. I'm sure more pro-filmers will come out with more craziness.

Oh and please, give comments and criticism(?) - I haven't done this before, so maybe I can do better in the future!

But most of all, I hope you enjoy the shred message :)

This is a great video! i like it so much and you´ve edited fucking fast! i just can´t believe it! i´ve almost all of your footage, just from a different angle;P as you can see in the video there´ve always been many cameras! i wanna do something about the euros either, hopefully it´ll be interestring even after watching your video:)
but still i´ve some critics....
i personally didn´t like the music at all! i think it´s getting a bit boring during the video. some more mixture would have been really really nice! anyway it´s not my taste of music, so maybe other people will think totally different about this point:)
edting is well done, i like it! camera´s done well, too! i just dislike the compression, i think if you up two versions of a video there should be one "chrystal" clean version and this one ain´t :/ but it´s still a good quality!
ANYWAY I REALLY LIKES THIS GREAT WORK!
Props go out to finnland;P

Ah I forgot something, i think you don´t need do show the "eurossign" all 3 minutes!;P your editing is good enough and doesn´t need such stuff!

I just got done watching it. Awesome footage!!! However I must agree with dAb, the music wasn't me. I found my self turning it down a little at a time through out the video. But other than that SUPER VIDEO!!

Thanks for your comments already. I forgot to mention about the music. Yeah, I can understand that not everyone will like it and stuff, but I do and that's what mattered when I was making it! It's just like someone makes a shred video with some rap in the background - I don't really like it, but I can manage it. It's really hard to please everyone with the music and this being my first thing to really edit, I wanted to have something in the background that felt like me.

dAb - Hmm who were you then? I can't find your name so I have no clue who you are and it would be cool to recognise you since we've been in the same place at the same time.

About making an even better version - I did actually, but it's bigger than I've seen in the internet, so I figured those will do. Hopefully I can get some footage from the worlds as well and maybe, maybe I will put those two in a DVD or something so anyone can have them _crystal clear_ if they want to.

Wow that was awesome!

Thank you for showing footage of vasek dropping, it made me feel better...until he hit spining superfly> symposium flurry geeezz

The shred was top notch and I was realy imprerssed with everything except all those clippers that ilja and renato were throwing. I could have done without that. But maybe I'm just a slave to the guitless crazy the media pumps into our heads :?
I didn't mind the music.
Thanks agian

With every video I see of Vasek, the bigger he busts. Wow and he gets
more and more creative! Those symp Flurrys, and those downtime
rev swirling pickups (?)..so styley. tripless, flawless, saneless!!

Dude!
This vid is a must Watch!

Vasek is amazing - the run with blurry torque>pdx torque both sides and superduperfly>symp flurry is awesome.

Did I see him drop fairy swirling flurricane at the start? Like a five dex attempt? Has he hit this move? And does he hit a frontside symp genesis near the start too? 12 fearless was cool too

The other players are all good too - Ales was shredding well, Jere L is insane - whirygig bsos, blurry torque and torch r rack all in the same run!! 8O

Thanks heaps for the vid, really cool!

 Arrrrgggghh!

Stop the stupid add talk and watch these two players in action! Don't you realize that Ilja and Renato can do almost anything they want with a bag? No stupid rules apply here in Europe dude and it breaks my heart that two of our most stylish players are being downgraded by you.

I think this is an American problem and you guys are really stocked with it.

Get real and play some hardcore and stylish footbag instead.

Thank you so much for this awesome video. Very nicely edited (not that I know much of this, but it was pleasant to watch!!)
-and as for the music, yeah, just play whatever you like.. everyone has different taste, so of course not every one is raving over the music, but also everybody knows how to turn the volume down!!
It's fun to see the footage already just a week after it took place!! Nice job!
Props to all the players. You are stars..
(extra props to Ilja and Renato for throwing clippers in.... Guiltless or not, you're beautiful to watch :D )
Thanks again..

There's the proof.
People can pick the shit out of anything you do, but when someone comes in, with no experience, and say that they enjoyed it, then that matters. It was very plesant to watch. I loved the mix of players... no 'sections' was good. It kept you guessing. Drops are also good, too (IMO) - it shows the players are human after all (Vasek).
Thanks again, and I hope you're taking your video camera to worlds. If not for you... for me.

Very nice!
I liked it a lot, and I find that the music is good for a shred video. It's not exactly my kind of music - but I think it fitted in very nicely.
The editing was nice as well, though I am sucker for slomo...
(As seen in my political slogan: "More Slomo - In generel!")
And I vote 2nd that the "no sections" was good!
GOOD, GOOD, GOOD!
It was very nice that you blended the indoor and outdoor stuff - I hate just watching a gym... Very nice balance, good camera-angels, good shred!

Thank you!
