Compression shirts

I just bought a couple Under Armour compression shirts. Has anyone ever tried using them under their t-shirts while shredding? My older brother uses them under his gi for jiu-jitsu to help prevent getting rashes and burns. More importantly, he says it helps to keep him cool. The fabric "breathes" well and takes the sweat off your body. I'm not quite sure how that works exactly but it would seem convenient for those who preffer wearing shirts or those situations when you need a shirt on. One of the major drawbacks is the price, they cost (in USD) anywhere from $18 to $25 per shirt.

About Under Armour.
Slightly cheaper alternative.

I use high performance fabric shirts. Probably the same thing with a different name on the tag.

I don't like them. They feel like a turtleneck on my whole torso. I'd rather have a tight t-shirt.

I like turtleneck long sleeve shirts because its looks cool on me
