Your Milestones

Post by Shredster »

What do you consider milestones in your game?

Mine are as follows:

Tiltless
Guiltess
Atom Smasher > atom smasher
Mobius
When i was able to finally "Bsos"
My first 2 (clipper/atw)
My first 3 (Butterfly)
My first 4 add (dimwalk)
First 5 (pixie symp rev whirl)
First 6 (Pixie symp rev whirling xbod rake)
5 > 5 (Pixie symp rev whirl > PS whirl)
4 > 4 > 4 (backside smear > symp whirl > ps mirage)

I'm sure there are more and i will continue to post milestones for me as my game goes on. Feel free to post your milestones.

EDIT:

First double dex: Smear?
First triple dex: Sailing ss Mirage
First quad dex attempt: Sailing ss barrage...the'd the last barrage dex really bad and didn't even come close to the delay, but it was fun trying.

I set my milestones by tricks.

When I started out, my ultimate goal was a ripwalk.

After that, Torque. Now that I've hit it, my next milestone will
be a Barfly. And Ripwalk>Ripwalk, which I've come pretty close to.

I set small "milestones" for certain tricks, i.e. 20 infinities, a certain
amount of ducking clippers (7 is the record, want to hit 10, then
probably go up to 20 and so on).

Saying that going tiltless was a milestone is difficult to say, because
it wasn't like it just happened from one day to the other. It slowly
came.

My first double dex trick: Smear
First triple dex trick: Pixie DLO (barefoot though, and only once)
First Stepping trick: Ripwalk
First 4 add: Dimwalk
First 5 add: Phoenix

My mile stone is sticking to footbag through a 2 1/2 month injury and spending the whole time nursing it so that I could return to the game.

Now that its over it makes me feel like a better footbag player than any of my big moves, tripless combos, or long runs could ever do.

oh yeah and clipper... that made me fall in love with footbag a long time ago

Hmmm, Milestones:

1. Getting my first Rod Lavers, watching TOTT1 like twenty times, and hitting consecutive atw's and my first four - symposium whirl.

2. Staying out late with Jason under the Washington/Jefferson Street bridge and hitting blurry whirl (first five!) when Jason called it.

2. Going to SFJ 03' with Nasty Nate and meeting Sunil and smoking with Lon. Learned all about a foundation for footbag and began working tiltless all over the place.

3. Going to South Eugene High School to see with my own eyes the "hype" about how good the foot bagger's were. Then afterwards meeting Talon and busting food processor (first six!) for the first time.

4. Going basic guiltless with much pressure from Nasty Nate.

5. Hitting Bigwalk, Gyro Blur, and crispy Mobius all in the same day after a three hour session in which Jason and I were calling moves for eachother.

6. Meeting Richard Abshire and Jason Crook and with their knowledge fine tuning and advancing off of what I had; like getting CT300's and buying a shit load of mini's from him and completely stepping my game in just a couple weeks.

EDIT* - OH YEAH - Having James there to push me when no one wanted to kick and always advancing like crazy.

I suppose, but then again, its a releif when you finally reach the tiltless/guiltless status. And once you do reach that level of play, its a milestone (in my opinion)

hmm i dont really think much about milestones... i dont think of tiltless as being a milestone cos its not very big imo... im not hitting long enough guiltless strings to count that yet
so i guess ripwalk>ripwalk, paradon, first 5 and 6, atom smasher>atom smasher... scorpions tail, PS whirl definitely... winning a competition

Hmm... I guess my milestones are as follows:

- Learning how to do Clippers on both sides in one nite (after 2 weeks of constant failure)
- Pixie op Clipper
- My first double dex - Pixie Legover (or it may have been a ss DLO)
- DATW
- Torque
- Ripwalk
- Montage on both sides at 10 months
- Legbeater > Ripwalk > Blur (rpt)
- Big Apple
- Being so close to Rubberman
- Having the discipline to go over my smaller tricks instead of trying for new, big tricks

I am especially fond of the 3rd, 7th, 8th and last milestones.

Assassin (First Alpine)
Phoenix (First 5)
Atom Smasher > Atom Smasher
datw bsbdos
Pdx Flail (First Flail)
Pigbeater > Smog > Atomic ss DLO > Pixie Butterfly Swirl (Triple dex record)
Atomic Blender (First 6)

Hmm.

Kicking with Homeboy Spencer for the first time on the last day of the 2002 Tasmanian Youth Parliament for half an hour at Salamanca Place (first time I ever got to kick with somebody!)

Attending the NSW champs/Homebake music festival - first time I kicked with guiltless players and first time I kicked with Lynton and Brendan - also my first tournament and I hit like 8 new guiltless moves that day

Going tripless, guiltless, genuine and tripless weren't really milestones for me - I don't really know when I first hit big combos of each.

Hitting Scorpion's tail both sides was definitly a milestone - I used to think it was such a hard move.

Rubberman was probably a big milestone in the sense that it's now a very stong part of my runs.

Definitly hitting furious sets just recently is a big milestone - about a week ago I couldn't hit them at all and now I can not only hit them but get some height as well - they are far from consistant though.

The only way i can see atomic blender being a 6 is by xdex.

Woah. That's massive. Hitting Pixie out of DLO seems tough.

It`s not. Hitting atomic out of dlo is the impressive part of that string, imo.

I think the record for consecutive smogs is like 20...I know Honza and myself have both hit 9. But the consecutive record for tapping dlos is considerably lower.

I remember when i hit my first atw...that was quite a while ago now..but that was a milestone for me as it was my first 2 add trick.

other than that my milestones were:
>hitting ripwalk both sides in the one session for the first time
>blur
>double illusion
>dimwalk and parkwalk
>being able to kick with Dan Ednie everyday
>playing footbag and soccer with Ales Zelinka
Alex Urano
