Penn & Teller: Bullshit!

Post by Spadrick »

I just got into winamp streaming TV. One of the shows that I am watching constantly is: Penn & Teller: Bullshit!

Now, I have always liked Penn & Teller's routines for stand up comedy, and their skewed look at magic and slight of hand.

But this, man. This is friggin genious. They take issues that are idiocies and that people believe to be fact or truth, and they fucking tear it up and show you the scientific proof behind their reasoning, with no holds barred. Essentially; In society, there are many products and ideas that we buy in to. Some of these products, services or ideas are just plain bullshit. Well known magicians: Penn and Teller are here to knock some sense into people in a humerous and informal way and to explain why some things in life are just plain bullshit.

If you have seen this show, post about your favorite episode and what you thought about the topic.

If you haven't seen it, I would suggest opening up Winamp5 and tuning into this station: SaltWaterChimp.Com SWCTV251 and 252

I love this show. Im buying the DVDs. You could think of it like, Michael Moore x Science + Penn & Teller. I love it.

----------------------
Favorite Episode: Feng Shui/Bottled Water

In this episode, three Feng Shui consultants who claim that Feng Shui is a "science" are put to the test when all three of them are invited into a home to provide their "science" but all three have differant layouts and suggestions and are making a ton of money while they are at it. Three different designs that are totally differant!

Also, two twins go to get a haircut, one will be getting a regular sixteen dollar haircut, and the other will be getting a feng shui haircut (supposedly to bring good fortune) that looks exactly the same for $150! Penn and Teller explains that this is not a "science" but just a bunch of bullshit

In the second half of this episode, the bottled water industry.
Is it true that tap water is no worse then bottled water? As far as Penn and Teller is concerned, it's all the same. A prank is played at a fancy resturant with the world's first "water stuart". He sells a couple all different brands of water that cost up to $8! Where does this water come from? All botles with fake brands were filled with the garden hose out back! While everyone who tasted these different brands, thought it tasted different each time.

:D

EDIT: ELVIS DIDN'T DO NO DRUUUGS!

Heh, ripping up the bible was a good one too.
:D

I have never heard of this show, but as soon as I have the net at my house I plan on giving it a shot as you seem to get this stuff right usually.

Can you see old episodes?

yea thats the only thing I hate about the streaming tv through winamp5, it seems like every channel is always full, but there seems to be no reason for it. It could have 40 users at one time and say its full and you try again an hour later and theres 64 users but you can access it

SaltWaterChimp caters to people who pay. You can still get on to the channels if your lucky. I usually get on after 3-4 mins of being persistant.

There can only be 20 people watching that dont pay.

Best time to get on is 8-10pm.
Keep trying!
