Long hair + footbag

Post by BalinorNZ »

Hey everyone,

I have long hair, and I play footbag...

This poses a problem as it tends to get in my eyes and wearing a hat to keep it down is really distracing an way to hot now that its summer.

Im sure some others must have had this problem so can anyone suggest hair solutions?

So far ive had:
Pigtails (from the misses :?)
Hair clips (pretty girly)
bandana (seems like another form of overheating hat to me)
lots of hair product to stick it back (goes slimey when my head sweats 2L an hour)
Hair band (also girly, but ive seen some asians wearing them, mabey they coming into style?)

What u all got?

Okay do you know what a bobby (hair) pin is?

Well there these little pins that are alot less noticeable than hair clips. If you put them in right, you shouldn't be able to see them. Well anyways they look like this:

There really cheap like 2 dollars for 100.

You reacon melissa?

If you saw a guy who obviously had hairpins in his hair what would you think of him?

I was gonna use bobby pins but Katie (misses) says it would look ridiculous :?.

Its not quite long enough for a pony tail :(

Guys wear tham all the time! My brother wears them. I wouldn't really care to tell you the truth.

It all depends on the way you put them in. You can either A. just shove them in or B. Take a litlle pice of your hair and kinda twist it in, so to speak. I sure your girlfrined knows how.

I wear mine in a ponytail. If a hat isn't your thing, try using a visor.

Ninja Headband. It looks all cool and ninjaish and it keeps the hair out of your eyes.

first I would like to say

long hair + footbag = one awsome person

and I would have to go with dblthink84 on this one, wear a ninja headband. I mean come on ninjas are awsome. You could get like a rising sun/ kamakazi one. That'd be sweet...

I go straight up ponytail. And then I wear a headband to keep back the loose hairs that slip out. and to hold the hairband in place I use bobby pins.

yeeesh, it's alot of work but it's worth it.

I usually just get a razor, or a buzz cutter and cut it off.

yeah I'm with Seath. I get my hair cut just for footbag - otherwise I'd love to grow it long and maybe get dreads or something interesting.

I have always had short hair but my gf suggested I see what its like long, and I love it :D

It just dont go to well with footbag, coz its hot and gets in ur eyes, but it looks so cool waveing round when you shred, so thats why im trying to work round the issues ;)

I pull mine back and tuck it into the back of my shirt. Hence why I rarely shred without a shirt on.

I put mine back in a ponytail, but i 've found it still kinda gets in the way with ducking. I havn't done a lot of practicing with this so maybe its just my technique that can be fixed, but does anyone else with a ponytail have the same problem.

I was wondering also if anyone puts their hair in a top knot... i've had it described to me before but im not sure if it would work, as i understand it, it's like a samurai hairdo.

From what ive heard, everyone with long hair has trouble ducking and even spinning, you could try holding it down with a ninja headband thing :) or a folded up bandana.

A topnot might make ur head too hot coz the hair would be compacted.

Long hair doesnt really get in the way, its a common myth though I think. Ive been skooling them recently and dont have much problems with them. Also, James from montreal has long hair and he has the CLEANEST ducks/dives Ive seen.

Lets not forget Risden either, he had long hair and would do ripped warriors b2b..
