Would you buy a CD of my making?

Yeah, for sure, 5 bucks is nothing.

Would you buy a CD of me?

Post by Laroche »

If I made a CD for Chilly Philly, and sold it say for 5$ (Canadian or US, I dont care), lets say 70minutes of songs I made, would anyone be interested in buying it? For the record I have a bunch of songs which I did not release online.

This would encourage me to:

a) Make more music, and distribute some more free ones
b) Go to more tournaments

So how about it? Ill even give it for free as a prize for top3 in shred or something :)

If you were at a tournament I was at (ie. Australian Champs 2005) - I would definitly buy a cd off you! I don't know if I would buy it online (ie sending you a cheque or something) - just because it would cost me about $30 to get a bank cheque written out or to do a direct transfer into a foreign account for $5 and I don't have a credit card. So there is a lot of hassle involved. If I could figure out an easy way of payment I would definitly buy a cd off you.

Hey cool, positive responses!

Thanks for the encouragement. I wouldnt want to deal with selling it online, too much hassle, I meant just in person, for fun sort of. Im in no way doing this as a career or anything.

Looks like I'll be making it :)

On the flipside that means no more songs uploaded for a couple months. I'll make it worth it! I plan on having a wide variety of styles, all sorts of experimental stuff, dnb, some hip-hop/trip-hop, some ambient stuff, its gonna be great!

Well, its finally "released"! (meaning I burned the songs and mixed them and such).

Other then the flaw of track 8 having something like 30 seconds blank at the end of the track, everything sounds pretty good. The intro is a tad too loud, and certain parts are a tad muddy, but the rest sounds amazing on everything I've tried so far.

I've sold something like 15 cd's so far, without really trying to promote it much. Maybe i'll send a couple copies of it to some indy labels here in montreal? Ninja Tunes have an office here

Thanks to everyone who bought one! Most of my next trax are all going to be online, for the next few months or so. I dont want to make another cd for a long time, until my style solidifies some more.
