Soccer shoes...good for footbag?

Ok, so this summer I'm probably going to invest in some indoor soccer shoes (Adidas samba's or something of the like) for soccer in the summer. They're nice and light, I'm guessing they'd be good for shredding...has anyone ever used them..what did you think? Thanks guys.

ive seen them, and yes they are light. But they are leather, and the toes arent very good. I guess you could mod them but then they wouldnt be good indoor shoes.

I think I have said this on three different threads today...Lavers are the best. Period
They just are no matter how many people disagree or want to try something different. They are the best for these reasons

1) Perfect for all shredding
2) The pros wear them
3) 99.9 percent of the people here recomend them
4) Because I say so
5) Modding is very easy
6) They look pretty damn cool

It not that hard of a concept.

Right, I should of rephrased that.. If I got some soccer shoes, would they work well for footbag (obviously Laver's are the best...but as an alternative?) just wondering here.

Sorry if it was a little harsh...You can shred in what ever you want man. I have seen the shoes you are talking about and they may work but the toe really does not look to good and flat. Its up to you and good luck with what ever you choose. Lavers make such a differnce in you game though and they are cheaper than the sambas I do believe.

I wear indoor shoes as my primary pair of shoes. No, they really aren't very good for shredding. There's really no toe box. The lightness doesn't help if you don't have a toebox. Typically, the material is a bit slippery as well, I think the inside of mine would suck for inside stalls/clippers/whatnot.

no no, he did say they were easy to mod, which I find a bit of an exageration. Though his main point was that they are popular.

Yes, the laver is a great shoe and it will cover all the bases you need covered in order to play freestyle footbag.

Though other shoes exist that work well too.

I would recomend the New Balance CT 520 over the laver to a new player.

Well I started on Converse All stars...and they are not that good of a shred shoe at all. When you guys convinced me to go get the lavers I was just amazed with them the first time I shredded in them.
Mr. Sandbag you can shred in what ever shoe you want. If you play your best with ducks taped to your feet then go for it (that may violate some rules though). But what I am trying to say...If you dont want the Lavers then dont get them...If you want your soccer shoes get them...If you want to play in them then go for it. I have just never worn that particular shoe so I have no idea how they would fair shredding in them.

Regarding the soccer shoes, you will likely find that all of these things are true (as they have been with every soccer shoe I have ever looked at everrrrr)
- the toe area will be convex when you want it to be concave and that will make the bag roll off *alot* easier
- there will be no stalling area on either side of the shoe. Insides/clippers/outsides will be bitches
- They will be made of a material that is slippery and not good for freestyle

If it is the toe is going to be pretty hard to stall on...it can be done mind you but it will be difficult. The insides and out sides will be tough to stall on too man. If you want to use them to play soccer in you probably dont want to mod the heck out of them to make the shreddable. I dunno I may be wrong.

What do you think??

to answer your questions directly.

1. yes, I have used them for freestyle.

2. they suck. it's rolloff city.

if you're just into playing a little kickybag in the circle at lunchtime, by all means, get these shoes. They'll do fine for just kicking around. if you want to be good at freestyle, you have to take it seriously (to a certain degree) and get some appropriate equipment. The New Balance CT520 and the Adidas Rod Laver are good shoes for beginners.

My friend has those shoes and he kicks a little sometimes, and it actually seems like the toe isn't that bad. Of course the outside/insides I know nothing about because I've never seen him go for anything.

I used to own a pair of those, so I'd kick in them every so often... All I can say is -- Ugh!! The sweet spot on those things is so incomprehensibly small that it makes shredding such a chore! Furthermore, they are not that light compared to Lavers. Once Lavers are modded, they are ridiculously light. Also, about the 520 comments... I would definitely not recommend these to new players unless they're up for the modding.

they suck for soccer. and your going to look really wack trying to do a shot with the fins on lavers. get your indoor soccer shoes, and a cheap pair of lavers off ebay. simple.
