Grounded

Post by peanutbuterboy »

Ok here it goes...last weekend I did nothing but footbag. So when Tuesday came (no school monday thanks to MLK) I bombed this Chem test. Like I just left it blank...I had no idea how to do it. So my chem teacher calls my mom and is like you need to take his "hacky sack" stuff away.
So my mom took my:
1. Lavers
2. All my bags (even the crappy ones)
3. All my vids
4. And grounded me from the computer (Im not here right now...you never saw me)

So now im screwd. I have no way of playing at all. I have my backup pair of old lavers but no bags or anything
Any advice on getting my stuff back honestly. I mean I am really bummed out and I want to get back on good grounds with my parents and all, but they took the grounding a little far. They also wont take me to or from school so now I have to ride the bus. All because my stupid chem teacher asked her to take my stuff because like last year she got mad at me for shredding in her class...but then I tried to prove to her it was all scientific because of pendulum is enertia or centrifical force or something.

yeah so help me out...

Oh man that really sucks Luke! I feel for ya! Maybe you could talk to the chem teacher and ask what you can do to get some points back on the test (maybe extra credit or something) and after the teacher gives you something to do, show your parents what you're doing so that they'll know that you're at least trying to make your grade better. This way, they might give you your bags, lavers, and videos back sooner. It might work so give it a try! Good luck! :)

I would say try and get your chem grade back up, but until then you could try and shred at school during lunch... I mean someone there probaby has a bag, and you could practice without your lavers or with your backup pair. That might hold you over until you chem grade comes back up.

It was pretty dumb of you to fail that last Chem test. You deserve your punishment. I think the only way to rectify your disgraceful performance is to prove your chemistry worth. No footbag for a week or two won't kill you. What you have to do is show your parents and your teacher hat you are the responsible young adult that you THINK you are. It remains to be seen whether you are or not. Why not prove it to yourself. Never let footbag get between you and the more important things in your life, in other words, your priorities. When you need to be studying, study! Use footbag as a break from the monotony of studying, but dont waste your wole weekend footbagging when you know you need to prep for a test. What did you expect your parents to do/say? "Well, did you at least hit your flip whirl in a run this weekend?"

yeah, i gotta side with mirken on this. don't make footbag the reason you suck at every thing else. did they really have to take all you stuff from you? maybe not, a good long chat over a cuppa probably could have straightened it out. but hey, you'll smarten up pretty quick when you have no lavers, no bags, and only 1 way to get them back.

There is no easy way out. You have to show them you have learnt your lesson. Perhaps helping out around the house might sway them a bit. I reckon if i was in your situation, i would have done the samething. Damn procrastination.

Just think how good it will be when you get back your gear.

Try to imagine what do you want to do in future.
There are a lot of people at around 20-30 who started to work and wonder what their priorities were when they were younger.

It could be very disappointing to acknowledge that you cannot study your subject of your dreams due to your footbag weekends !!!

Later you can decide what to do in your spare time on your own.

School is the most important time for your future and when you are always up to date it is not that hard to graduate , I guess.

I hope you understand my advice- it doesn't matter what your mum or teacher will do - the most important thing is what YOU WILL DO !

Try to solve your problems by learning and changing your attitude- your story told me there is something wrong with it.

Good luck

P.S.: If you train footbag 1,5 hours per day should be enough for your legs- so there is plenty of time for doing very useful things for your future.

Oh man, all of you are right. I guess I do deserve my punishment.
I do wish my parents would care more about my playing though. It is something I do all the time and if they new how much it ment then they would think it was cool and they would like it as well.

Thanks for helping me see the light...

Yeh pretty much thats what you gotta do... but did your parents put any conditions on the grounding? Like did they explain what they expect of you in order to get your shoes back? They at least owe you that.. i mean it is your stuff after all.

just study and forget about being grounded for a while. And when u pass your next test then your parents will b happy!

also, its good to have a schedule to show to your parents WHEN you get your footbags and stuff back. It could be like :

Mon-Thursday = NO footbag, 2hours study each night
Friday = 30mins study ....2 hours footbag
Saturday = hw 1 hour...3 hours footbag"
Sunday = footbag 5 hours ...study 1 hour

or something like that! then your parents will understand what youre doing and can trust you more.

dude, just do what I do. Shred at lunch if you got any shred space in your school. But it sucks that you got jacked of all footbag. your mom's prolly gonna hold on to those for a while.......try stitching! (my answer to everything)

or just juggle the living crap out of your schedule like me. I learn slowly in footbag but at least my mom accepts it becaus ei still maintain my ass in grades..

good luck dude and happy no shred....

Perhaps you just need to pay more attention in class. I never study or anything I just keep listening no matter how boring the teacher may be and my grades are fine. Then you can shred like crazy every night as usual. When you get your stuff of course. Only if listening is your problem though.

You could just find some store that sells some crappy bags, buy one, and sherd at you friends house until you get your stuff back.

I do man...its really hard stuff though and she is from like South Africa so she talks funny. What the test was over was stoichiometry and that is the art or process of calculating the atomic proportions,
combining weights, and other numerical relations of chemical
elements and their compounds.

So it was a bitch of a test. I still should have studied for it and I got a 72 on the scantron part and an 8 on the written part...thank God for easy multiple choice questions. But I think they over reacted and they threatend to throw my stuff away....I would probably cry if they did.

I just have to live it out I guess. Joe said he might mail me a bag to tide me over :D nice kid that Joe.
