seeing i just discovered this part of the forum , ill make my very first post i just recently started freestyle(about two weeks) and im working on mirage and leg over, but i j ust cant seem to hit it
ive hit mirage once and leg over like five times(only once with shoes ) im getting pretty frustrated but im still workin on it...
seeing im sposed to be doing school work right now i should get back to it... dont want the teacher to be mad
How are your basic consecutive kicks? I think lots of people jump into freestyle (stalls) too fast, before mastering their basic kicks. I would recommend schooling your basic kicks until you can do like 50 controlled ones no problem, then really school both of your toe stalls for a while. How are your toe stalls? Are they 100% consistent?
I also recommend checking out the `trick tips` forum for some more pointers.
I think picking up on moves is all about your resources and practice. I believe it took me around a month or more because I never really knew proper techniques or anything like that. Once you start getting the movements down and the mirage in general, you'll notice how simple it is, just like on videos. A straight set right infront of you, and then at the peak of the bag and the way down, you just fall right into that sweet sweet mirage.
Do you have anyone in your area you kick with ?? If not, finding someone to kick with and learn some new stuff, it always helps out. Well, goodluck and have fun ~!
wel im not 100% consistent with my toe stalls but damn near 80-90% and if i get goin i can do thirty to forty easy...
and i only have like one person at school that likes to freestyle but im the one who got him into it... so im teaching him some tricks i know how to do (cant quite do em) but im a little more into it then he is and a little better.. so no i really dont have anyone in my area
Good job on mirage and legover. Now try reverse mirage.
Are you doing everything both sides
For clipper stalls they just take a little time. Stand somewhere and toe stall it and then set it up and clipper stall it. If you miss pick it up and do it again (you will miss). Then do it over and over (BSOS). You will have it in no time.

When you set your toe stalls, how high are they? That can really be a determining factor in whether or not you're able to hit mirage/legover easily.
As far as learning tricks like that go, set a goal for the session. Hit it five times next session, then next time 10 times, then next time 15 times ect ect
Really push yourself to hit a trick, and tell yourself not to go inside or do anything until you hit it. Pretty soon you'll be hitting your basics easy.
May I suggest the practice room af www.flipsider.com ? It really helped me when i was learning tricks. . .still does really. Also, www.hackrifice.com had a lot of demo's. Mostly three add and up I think. You should check that out too.
When you're skooling rev mirages aka illusions:
At the same time you're setting the bag, jump with the support leg and do the dex (like atomic set). Helps a lot, I had very bad troubles with illusions for a long time before I figured that out.
If you have nobody to kick with yet, I recommend you to find one. You'll learn the tricks faster and cleaner, you'll have company and you'll develop faster.
Umm, I don't agree that you'll learn better if you have someone to play wiht. I have only played with other people ONCE in my life and I'm doing ok, it's all about finding motivation, I do this by watching videos.
When starting out you should learn atw both sides both ways really well before you start with the other twos. That's what I figure anyways.
I learned Mirage before I learned Illusion, but now my illusions are cleaner and cooler looking than my mirage. Mirage > Illusion Repeat looks cool. I could do that for hours
The practice room at www.flipsider.com has helped me like nothing else. It is my friend because I have no serious footbaggers here where I live. Just "hackysackers" who dont know any better and dont want to learn

yep, same here
and ill start working on my weak side as well...that way i dont over develop one side
wow im gettin soo much better at clipper stals finally , is it normal to be able to butterfly before you can mirage/legover? cuz im headin in that direction
