So i've been looking around for free places to host videos, and I couple have come to my attention. one is our media which is apparently pretty slow right now, but once they get more servers up and running it should be okay, and the other is archive.org, which i think everyone knows about by now. i'm pretty sure we should be able to upload our videos there. if anybody has a video to share and wants to test out either of these sites, let us know if it works. if we can post to archive.org, it'd be great, 'cause their servers are VERY fast, and you can download via FTP, whcih is convenient and fantastic. actually, maybe i'll try uploading the videos i have to archive.org when i get home... i'll let ya'll know.
edit: turns out on futher inspection that ourmedia is actually an offshoot of archive.org... still, free unlimited hosting and bandwidth? sounds pretty good to me...

I was just about to mention something about OurMedia.
Anyways, Nick, storage is cheap and bandwidth is expensive. I would suggest that people upload their videos both to footbag.org and something like OurMedia. Then, when they are just released, we can use the OurMedia bandwidth, but will still be able to find and get the files down the road on footbag.org. It will help with the huge bursts in bandwidth when a new video is released.
That is unless you want to lead the charge in help paying the $600 - $1000 a month to get another T1 line for Steve's place ;-]

When Steve is done with higher priority projects, we will be incorporating my servers into the gallery system as mirror servers to take some of the load off of the main line to .org and speed things up.
Depending on how Steve feels about this blogtorrent concept, we may even implement a .org tracker -style thingy.
