Mind vs mirage

Post by tuomoruutufan »

I can hit mirage perfectly after a trick ie. Leg over - mirage or atw-mirage but if you asked me to hit mirage and mirage only i screw up.

Anybody else have a similar problem.

Im sure the awnser is simply more practice but i was just wonderin if this is common

every one has there own problems. i think at one point i had the opposite problem as what u have, i couldnt hit the tricks after other tricks but i could hit them solo. if u ask me its kinda cool that u can hit them in strings but the awsner to fixing your problem is what u have already said. PRACTICE and drill.

Make sure your setting the bag straight up, a little under waste high. What you might be doing is when you hit mirage out of a trick, you body is better posistioned to give a clean set, whereas when trying mirage before a string, your body goofs on you.

It sounds similar to when some people wanna do a big toe move, and toe stall a few times before hand to get a rhtyhm, as opposed to starting from a dead stop.

hey tom since you posted about it you actually do that. you always start with a few toe stalls then go into your string. i wonder if that would help me.

i think you shoudl just practice the mirage a little more...actually just more. and at some point your mirages will be easy enough to put into a string.

for example when i first started cippers i could only do them if i hit the bag with the inside of my foot. NOW i can do a clipper from any trick. its all about being "fluent" with the trick

I say...do it again! Keep doing it until you get it down. It took me about two weeks of footbagging to finally learn mirage and a while longer to get it down so it looks cool (even though I still drop it 8O) Don't forget to drill on your flip. I suck at coaching others in writing, so I'm not even going to try. I'm just going to tell you to keep doing it until you do it right. :)

I actually have a problem with ps whirls.

If I hit a butterfly or something first, almost no prob. Set from my hand to clipper > ps whirl, PSH, i'll be lucky

Its all in how well you have the move down I guess.
