The Adidas Stan Smith

I was at my local mall trying to find some shoes that could be used for future footbag shoes other than lavers just to try something new and I saw the adidas Stan Smith. It looks just like a laver and I was wondering if anyone has ever tried it out.

They are leather, so at the very least you would have to do some serious leather removal as a first step.

Also, the surfaces are not quite as good as on a laver, though similar.

Also, they are of similar crap construction as lavers.

In conclusion... sadly, you should keep looking.

It's good to always have your eye out though.

Haha, that's funny. When I went shoe shopping a couple of weeks ago, I accidentally found a pair of Stans and left the store wearing them.

I've tried them for shred only once, and my first impressions are:
-good clipper surface (possibly better than the Laver in the long run?)
-pretty shitty toe box (but that's no disaster; the Stan is also a cool shoe just to wear for non-shred related purposes)

Does anyone - who has kicked with Stans more often - have similar experiences?

I also would have to disagree with you, Tom... what is it you find so crappy about the Laver construction?

Heck yeah...I think they look very cool. I would get a pair if they werent so white....I still may anyways.

I ordered a pair of reebok g6 west indies yesterday and they should arrive in a few days. http://www.zappos.com/n/p/p/7147071.html I know that Stephen Barnes has a pair and so I would ask him how he likes them. Another shoe that I came across that seems like it would work is the reebok classic briteo SE. The only problem tht I can see is that leather part on lavers that goes around the toe, it goes around the whold shoe including the inside which could mess with clippers a little. Seems like it is removable though. I always wanted black gravis dunbars, too bad they are out of production
