Although Jorden has been blowing us away with these videos he still needs to step up to Vasek face to face, at the same tournament.

Vasek has three world championships under his belt, Jorden wont be able to even equal that for three years at least. Jorden is fresh and creative and he's pushing all of us to hit big, but he has yet to throw down face to face, and that's what will be the deciding factor in this debate.

Vasek is the reigning king of footbag and for that reason I vote for him.

p.s. but I eagerly await the day they confront each other and lay it down in the name of the progression of freestyle footbag.

OH MAN, that video of yours is from The Office right Seath? I watched that episode last night, it was freakin' funny. Sorry this is off topic. To be on topic, I have no idea, I haven't really seen much from Vasek other than a few massive tricks, tryed to download a video but it stopped responding. Maybe I'll try it again now. I didn't know Jordan was that high up...

The World titles don't say Vasek is better, they say he has been competing longer than Jorden. Ryan Mulroney was working on his 3rd title, but Vasek beat him and most people thought Vasek was better than Ryan well before Vasek won his first title.

Personally right now I think Jorden is better, but I need to see Vasek play in person again to make that final. Jorden has way more style, a lot more variety, and a lot of huge unique tricks. Vasek has huge tricks and huge links.

This had to come up, i wondered why it happened so late...anyway,
i dont think, its making any sense, it has a teeny-pop-chart smell,
that i dont particulary like.

Common, people of course V. is the best aka read Seaths post !

I find it very difficult to compare the two, and it seems kind of unfair.
Vaskas technical mastery is yet unmatched, not even the worlds
second best, Honza, is close to his skill level, at least this what Jan
himself seems to think.

Jordens impressiveness comes from another source, although his
game is also technically on a high level, but its his constant
originality and its constant output attract people.

Maby, he is the most creative player around, i dont know since
i'm fairly new to this, but if you count in technical abillity, form,
hard links, bsosness, massive tricks, creativity ect, Vasek
takes the trophy.

On a personal level, people may like one style more than another,
certain combos impress you more than others and so on, so of course
some guys will say, that Jorden is better, especially since he is kinda
"new" on the scene ( of course he isnt ) and provides the community
with fresh footage at an amazing rate.

Its really hard to interpret this question, and i would like to know
the motivation behind that poll, what does the author expect from
it, and mostly i'm curious what the main protagonist will say about it !

Actually this is a good topic, since it will create a lot of controversy .
I just hope people will be more gratefull to guys like Jorden, Honza
Ellis, Felix and Vasek, for everything they did for this great sport,
instead of stupidly awaiting anybodys downfall !

This is Footbag, not Dynasty and we should give love to all the
greats involved because of the diversity of their talents, instead
of flatly comparing them to find out who the "best" is.

For that, we have stuff like worlds, you know

Vasek,

I don't know how well Vasek has been playing recently and if he's been pushing his game like he used to. From his old footage and routines, I can easily say Vasek, but Jorden is catching up so fast that these 2 huge potentials in footbag will be very high up there when they meet at Worlds 2005. Jorden's footage is the most recent, his strings are awesome and he's got some huge fresh moves, lots of style, but just remember to watch some Vasek Raw, Worlds 2004 shred, 100 bars, Vasek warming up, and anything Vasek, that kid has got some serious links and huge tricks that are easy for him to do, consistantly. If we were to get videos from his sessions that were this recent, I'm sure he'd make our jaws drop every time.

So as of now, Vasek, but with the rate Jorden is going, he can catch up, it all depends on how far his game goes, and how far Vasek is willing to take his.

I remember a post from Honza saying that Jorden isn't as half as good as Vasek or something, but after watching a couple of Jorden videos it makes me think that their skill level is pretty close.

Maybe Vasek has more experience with routines and stuff like that, but maybe thats because he has been playing longer.

I voted for Vasek because i think he has always made my jaws fall wide open after some video's. Jorden's vids also have, but i just think Vasek is better.

I mean some combos by Vasek are insane! Gyro Barroque > Double blender?? 8O Superdooperfly > symp flurry? 8O

I believe that Vasek also has quite alot of Variety, just doesn't show it in routines and all.

Honza posted that before jordens videos came out.

I vote vasek. He does everything with such ease sometimes you forget how big he is going. But Jorden is close in my opinion.

I voted Vasek.

Jorden has got some sick stuff. What I like about Jorden is that he has sooo much variety. It seems like Vasek does alot of the same stuff. BUT, whatever Vasek does, he does with his bouncy, effortless style that I love. He can link anything it seems...and he just goes...and goes...Vasek. He's the man.

vasek. i don't think it's a hard descision. jorden has very unique links, very interesting trick selection, but he just doesn't have the same control. vasek makes every thing look easy. his touch with the bag is near flawless. food processor> spinning pdx blender> rpt like it's childs play. jorden hits big tricks, mid string and both sides, but he makes it look very difficult. that's the difference in my opinion. vasek is #1.

Not to be a jerk, but all you had to do was go to the video section, and then at the top is his video named ---->6

We definitely need some new Vasek shred video...hook us up Prague !

Jorden is the better player for creativity and enjoyment while watching.

Vasek is the better player for technical difficulty.

Argh... 'Better' means so little I think.

I mean, I think it's pretty clear that there are things in footbag that Vasek Klouda does way better than anybody else. Everyone can agree to this, right?

But then, I think it's also pretty clear that there are things in footbag that Lon Smith does better than anybody in the world. The fluidity in his game is unmatched - hell - it's practically uncontested.

Jorden... yah. We all know. His creativity is massive, and although I haven't followed the sport that long, I'd find it hard to believe that any individual other than Kenny or Rippen' has invented more concepts than Jorden. I mean, he's practically singlehandedly building a new generation of footbag components. I watch a lot of footbag, and Jorden's vids are the only ones that still give me the 'what the hell was that' bewilderment that all shred used to give me when I started watching. I still have trouble understanding some of Jordens tricks after three or four viewings.

Yah... So, I didn't vote.

P.S. - I feel the need to point out that in my mind that Ryan Mulroney has the strongest rhythm of any footbag player, and that he's the best routine player in the world. I wish he'd compete again, but I suppose that's kinda selfish - the guy has his own life and should do as he pleases.

Ryan Mulroney has the strongest rhythm of any footbag player, and that he's the best routine player in the world.
WORD!!!

I think if Ryan wouldn´t dropped at Worlds in Prague, He would be the 3 times WC and not Vasek... And I also think, that Vasek didn´t deserve his first place in San Fransisco... Ryan was dropless goddamit...!

But I think Vasek is the best. I say Jorden is the most creative player... but Vasek is the best... Just check out... Europe on fire, Vasek raw, ffo_warmup, and the Final shred... insanity...

Edit: and Vasek has unique links also... who else can do his links??? U don´t see them maybe, cuz his style is about to get used to...

it's JordEn, not JordAn.

Vasek is god and will always be. No-one can become even near his level. No-one has the control, the balance, the style and the endurance that Vasek posesses.

I mean ---

Who hits Bedwetter > Smog > Pigbeater > Smog > Pigbeater > Smog > Pixie Whirl > PS Whirl > Mobius > PS Whirl > Superduperfly drop???

Who hits Montage > Whirlwind > Montage Rake in a Worlds Sick3???
who attempts Montage > Superduperfly in Worlds Sick3???

Who hits Food Processor > Spinnin Blender > Food Processor > Spinning Blender???

Who hits about 25 contacts fearless???

Who hits 8 contacts beastly???

Who does dropless final routines in Worlds???

Who's 3 times World champ and 4 times European champ - in a row???

Vasek does all that.

I'm sure that Jorden is flattered by the comparason (I mean, who wouldn't?), but do you think it's fair on him to do so?

Jorden is Jorden, and Vasek is Vasek. They're both freakishly amazing, so why should it matter who's better. Why should we 'push' these two into 'battle'?
I like to think that footbag is more about evolution and creativity, and not competition. I ask you, why do so few people compete?

Sure it's interesting to ask the question, "Who's better?"
But what does it solve?
Comment in the BCS blog if you feel the need to.

Vasek is three times worldchampion. That makes him a best player ever. Like Tuukka said, there's only one answer. But that doesn't means you suck, Jordan. :)
