Has anyone else thought of getting one and using vecro to stick it to a hat to have booming tunes without cords getting in the way ?

I heard the sound quality was really crappy , and like im not sure , ide like to see some input to because if been wanting a mp3 player for a while.

I've though about that, except using a bandana or headband or something. I think it'd work ok, but I don't have the cash.

I dont have the ipod shuffle, but I have a 20Gig ipod with an FM transmitter, and it is definately the best investment I have ever made.

The iPod shuffle seems like such a scam.

They try to act like they are the first to come up with the random function.

I already have a iPod, I'm looking for a device to wear while kicking that lets me keep the cords away from my arms.

I don't need a display to manage the play list in iTunes and strap the damn thing to the back of my head. I want something super light, that can be hooked up to my hair retention device. Sound quality isn't the most important thing in a device that will be exposed to sweat and salt either.

A lot of other devices of similar size have batteries that weigh more than the whole shuffle, so they are out regardless of the other features.

i think the shuffes great! its super light cheap... and batteries last for 12 hours (a little more or less) when your kicking you put the headphones on then you pull them under you ears and back then after that you plug into the shuffle and have it travel around your back and tie it to your arm w/ a included band or i guess you could tie it to the back of your head whichever...

i have used an ipod shuffle and here is what i've found. It has great sound quality contrary to previous posts (which all depends on the quality of the song prior to you downloading it), peanutbuterboy said that there is no screen and he is correct but it's not hard to navigate through and if you put all good songs on it shouldn't matter, and it is even easier to carry around than a regular ipod. the only downfall that i found was that i had a hard time keeping the earpieces in my ears which is probably of my own doing. I think it's a great invsestment personally.

yeah, of course they have the same headphones as the original ipod, and i have serious problems keeping the buds in my ear...i think it might be my ears or something, but nonetheless. so instead i just got different headphones which stay in better, and actually turned out to be louder.

I've seen the shuffles in stores, and the buttons look cheesy/cheap. I'm afraid that they would get dammaged some how. I've been kinda looking into getting one.

I've seen tons of crazy shuffle mods. You could definitely put it in a headband and it would stay.

I've even seen ipod shuffles inserted inside those big oldschool headphones. They're tiny and light, which is pretty cool.

Also, they cost almost exactly the same as a 1 Gb memory stick, and can be used the same way, so why not?

Also, I've seen some pretty convincing evedence that the ipod shuffle has the best sound quality of any mp3 player on the market.

Damn, now i really want one.

I've actually been planing on buying a new flash drive, because my old one is pretty small (64mb) and its breaking. I think the shuffle is the answer. 1gb flash drives actually go for around $100.00, so getting the shuffle and being able to listen to music seems like a good deal to me.

i have a 20 gig ipod and a ipod shuffle at my disposal.
pros for the ipod shuffle: it's a flash card, no moving parts, nothing can really go wrong mechanically. the ipod is a hard drive, and if you bang it hard enough, which i have done, it will skip. the shuffle will not. size and wight, about 1.5 cm's thick 5 cms long, 3 cms wide and weighs less than my key ring, which only has my house key and my car key. when it's in my pocket i don't feel the weight, only the shape. it's not only a play button, it repeats songs, it goes through your list normally at your command, and (you guessed it) it shuffles. it's really good for albums. chuck on 5 alubums, you know where the songs are, you selct them as you wish. i have the 512 megs one (aka the small one) and it currently holds 94 songs/ roughly 6 hours of music. the sound quality is perfect. nothing happens to it when you put it on the shuffle. if your sound quality sucks, get new fucking head phones and shut you neck numb nuts. oh there are no cabels. there's an end that pops off to reveal a usb plug. slam that thing into your computer and you're ready to give er. after it's charged the battery last longer than a fully charged battery on my ipod 20 gig. the softwear that comes with it is award winning. it's tops. itunes rocks and they come with weekly free music downloads from the itunes music store.

cons. capacity, i wish they made them bigger but alas they don not. the little thing that covers the usb end some times falls off in your pocket which takes a couple seconds to dig out. the lack of a screen is a minor inconvenience if you just put on single songs and you're trying to find them. it requires lots of clicking to get to them if you have forgotten their placement on your shuffle. it only charges from the usb port off your computer and you have to purchase a separate wall adapter if you really want one. if not, keep the computer handy.

i think they are the bomb. if you want a good mp3 player and are short on cash pick one up. you won't be dissapointed.

I got a shuffle, and it does exactly what I thought it would do.

The difference in transfer time between a firewire iPod, and this USB flash drive is amazing. Firewire kicks ass, I can't believe how long it takes to transfer files to the shuffle. I think I could tranfer my whole library to the iPod in the time this thing transfer 10 songs.

I'm gonna try getting the 1 gig, but if i wont have enough money, then ill just get the 512
