Vasek's shred 30 @ Footjam 05

Post by ebo »

Here's a quick snippet from Footjam - Vasek's shred30. People were
asking for it, and since I have 20 minutes before I have to go to work,
I figured I can post it here, to shorten the wait for more of the tournament
that Kenny Shults described as the best he's ever been to... 8O

OMG I WANT MORE!!!

Holy crap what was his score? Totaly dropless and I think I saw 1 3add in the whole thing? That is insane. He had it 30 contacts planned perfectly.

No Nic. There were NO 3's.

What the shit.

I'm going to calculate this right now. What was that, 8 fearless at the end?!

God dammit.

edit: I know I stirred some shit over transcribing strings, but I really thought this should be documented. There's eight goddamn fearless at the end.

Blurry Whirl > Stepping Whirl > Sidewalk > Blurrier > Blizzard > Pixie ss Doubledown > Blur > Dimwalk > Sidewalk > Blizzard > Paradon > Barfly > Pdx Whirl > Pdx Whirl > Barfly > DownDoubleDown > Stepping far Osis > Ripwalk > Spinning Butterfly > Stepping Far Osis > Ripwalk > Spinning Butterfly > Blurry Whirl > Superfly > PS Whirl > PS Whirl > Spinning Whirl > Scorpion's Tail > Whirlwind > Mobius.

30 uniques in 30 tricks.

18 four-add.
11 five-add.
1 six-add.

Assuming the doubledowns were considered unique, and disregarding the first clipper (and assuming x-dex on the stepping whirl):

133 adds total.
30 unique.
30 contacts.

Shred 30 score = 266

Does everyone understand how amazing that is?

edit: My bad, I don't know why I thought it was the same barfly twice. :?

Can anyone confirm that 261.56666666666666666666666666667 is the highest score ever achieved in shred30 at any competition ever?

Kevin informs me his score would have been 266 if that barfly was a differnt unique 4 8O

In the Footjam thread in Journies to Tournies there are some score breakdowns.

edit: holy crap, that totally reminded me of when I used to play Shred Session. But, he managed to do it in real life! 8O

Personally I call barfly and paradon different moves for a number of reasons. Job's being one of those:

toe>op out>same out>op clip
clip>same out>same out>op clip

And I bet Vasek does too - so I'd go with a score of 266 - at least I bet that's what he thinks he scored.

edit: I see he has a ddd as well. hmm. This is pretty much the reason I've nominated myself to be on the IFC. I guess it really depends on who was judging and what they call unique. Does anybody know what the official score the judges gave him were?

edit2: My god I could watch that all day.

It was all uniques and 30 contacts with ten 5's and one 6 totalling about 265 points which is the current world record for a shred 30 score.

Wow!

I still haven't got 240!

I wonder how much fun he had doing this? He just did his normal shrug and ten walked off stage.

I don't think you can quantify his enjoyment by his reactoin. Vasek seems a pretty modest guy to me and not one to make a big deal. I am sure he has hit that shred30 many times dropless out of competition, maybe he was slightly shocked at his performance. I am sure he was extreamly stoaked with that performance!

Maybe he realises that his cool attitude and trademark shrug are some of the things which make his so bloddy damn awesome!!!!!!!

Go Vasik!

hey,

Vasek's score:
1* 6 add move
10* 5 add move
19 * 4 add move

that's 30 tricks and 30 uniques

adds 6+50+76=132add
add ratio 132/30=4.4

so score= 132+ 4.4*30=264 points

Congratulations Vasek!

AND he still had time. He could have easily hit something like Mullet or Pdx Blender in the end.

I'm gonna marry that guy!!
Oh, I can't wait for Worlds...

Has anybody even played all genuine in shred30 before? Now tripless??
OMG.
