Mr Sandmans are best for beginners, they are easily stallable and excellent beginner bags.
A footfighter, ive never used, but are apparently very good for there no-break in time.
I personally would buy an Abshire or any 32 panel stitched by somebody in the sticky thread in this section. The Mr sandmans apparently can make your technique sloppy, but youll never regret buying a properly hand stitched 32 panel.

freedom footbags are great for starting out ...
but personally i would get a footfighter and start with a great freestyle bag right from the beginning

i would get a sandman because like jamo said, there great for beginners.(and only cost 6 bucks compared to 30 bucks or so on a 32 panel)
but once you have gotten better i would then switch to a 32 panel for sets.
or get both and find out which one you like better, its all personal preference...
and yes i think 32's are beeter for your style

My personal favorites are the Dragon Droppings
But being as I make them I may be a bit prejudiced.
At the very least go look at all the pretty colors they come in.

Making your own bag is all well and good, but unless you've already been sewing for a while, I suggest you pick up a Mr. Sandbag if you're really serious about progressing. It will help you progress a lot more than using one of the first bags you made, which probably won't be all that great. Once you become a better stitcher though, you may never have to buy a footbag again!
