Setting up chat times

Hey I thought of this idea and figured I'd post it to see what everyone else thought of it. My idea is to have some designated chat times. I'm not saying they should be "YOU CAN ONLY CHAT AT _____, _____, and _____". I just think it would be helpful to make a few set times during the day that people who want to chat can get on and expect a few people to be on.

I find that currently the chat is very dead and you run into people randomly if you sign on after checking some new posts. Like I said I don't think it should be a strict rule but just a guideline so that if someone feels like chatting with some fellow footbagers they can expect to find some at a certain time.

The times would be posted in GMT so that everyone could translate it into their time zone easier (I'm assuming most people know what their GMT difference is or can easily find out). There would also be times spread out throughout the whole day to compensate for time zone differences and so you can find chatters during the whole day.

Maybe this whole idea is crap but I think with some loose time guidelines we would have more chatters on at the same time instead of people randomly signing on and off while no one else is on. I think it is a way to organize all those random chat room checkers into groups where they can actually chat.

The forum is GREAT for discussion but nothing beats real time discussion. I think this will also the new players (like me) get a better feel for the community and meet new people to shred with. So what do all you think?

yeah great idea - I'm on chat most times in the evenings - that would be from about 10pm gmt +10 (so at midday gmt) but if you want to set a very specific date and time I'll do my best to make it.

edit: something else I try to do if I remember is open a chat window and leave it open while I'm on the computer (and often while I'm not

)

Also use /beepall when you're in chat and it will beep whenever anyone says anything, that way if you're out of the room when they enter for the "welcome" or something you can hear them talking to you.

Speaking of Chat...

Does ANYONE ever go to www.footbagchat.tk anymore... I remember meeting Felix Zenger there before I knew who he was! What a friging trip that was! I was like... "You hit what??" and "What's your name again??"
I could tell he was going to be a household name soon enough.

Before we drift off topic lets start suggesting some times. The best for me is between (GMT - 5) 9:00pm and 2:00am.

best times for me are my office hours:

10 am --> 7pm GMT + 1

monday through friday
