Other Obscure Hobbiez
I just thought this would be a fun thread to start since I've found that most footbag players tend to be involved in other weird/interesting/skillful/obscure hobbies. Object of this is, post those other hobbies that you love to partake in, apart from footbag (That's a given!). The stranger the better!

Nice topic
My other hobbies/activities I enjoy:
Longboarding. I'd say that's my primary hobby if footbag doesn't count.
Juggling
Disc Golf
Freestyle Frisbee
And recently I have started to play the piano and guitar. Not so successfully though.
Oh, sleeping is also pretty awesome.
I also enjoy everything else. To do anything, is fun as shit.
And mathematics is fun too!

Loaded's probably the most popular brand out there... can't go wrong with that. I've seen the models you're talking about, they look great.
It's interesting there's a lot of people who longboard here... I got into it a couple years ago. Nothing advanced, I just enjoy carving and casual riding.
I built my own decks and ended up with about 5 until I made the perfect one for myself. Sold one on the Silverfish forum. In the process I invented a new kind of DIY press that's easy to make with very little $$ and produces a very nice concave.
My finished product turned out beautiful. I'll post the specs and get some pictures up if anyone wants to see it. It runs on Paris 180's with 86mm Kryptos.

My main hobby outside footbag is pickup basketball...which isn't obscure at all.
I also compete in a 9ball league, which is kind of obscure.
Zach Jahner competes in whirlyball, which has to be one of the most obscure hobbies of any footbagger.

Okay! I'm at work now but either tonight or tomorrow I'll take a couple pictures.
I learned a TON from the Silverfish longboarding forums. They have a very active forum dedicated to deck building, and there are a lot of members who build MUCH more professional boards than I. I wish I had stuff like a vacuum bag system and CNC router to play with But my main accomplishment was in succeeding with minimal equipment and money spent.
Anyway, I spent a lot of time researching every aspect of deck building to come up with what I wanted. Spending a week on that forum before even getting started is definitely recommended. Like I said, it took me a few tries to get what I wanted, although all of the decks are usable.
Build details are as follows: Four sheets of 1/8" Baltic Birch laminated with Titebond II, pressed together with just under 1/2" concave. Truck cutouts for drop through mounting (like the Loaded Dervish for instance). Graphics are done with two shades of wood stain on one side and a red-yellow fade with RIT dye on the other side. Sealed with about 5 coats of polyurethane and wet sanded a little for a glossy finish. For grip I used a small amount of sand mixed in a can of poly and painted it on.
The press is made from scrap 2x4's and plywood, polypropylene rope (because it doesn't stretch like nylon), and about 12 eye bolts. Pretty ghetto, but elegant in its simplicity.
edit: I found a topic I started about my press awhile back on another forum here. There are some pictures of the press and then a pic of the blank deck a few posts down.
Haha, sorry to highjack this thread! Maybe it belongs in arts & leisure anyway.

Wow! I thought this was going to be a dud topic for sure! Cool that people like it.
It's really interesting that many baggers also longboard. I feel like this is partially because we used to be skateboarders and since footbag came into our lives, we realized we didn't want to risk our limbs anymore by throwing ourselves down stair sets and the happy medium between quitting skateboarding and still skateboarding was longboarding. I ride a Reign- Forge dancer right now, and I just mainly cruise downhill and dabble with flatground freestyle.
Whirlyball looks really cool and I think it takes the cake for most obscure hobby right now.
That's awesome you make your own longboards, Chris. I'd be interested in seeing pics, as well.
Keep up the posting, guys! And thanks for sharing! It's cool seeing what everyone else is into.

OOoo, my bad, didn't see you posted before me, Chris. And yeah, now that I think about it, this probably should be in Arts n Leisure. I just figured that since the topic was based around footbag and other hobbies, it generally had to do with footbag. Apologies.
Edit: Just checked out your deck, Chris. Looks store-bought! Beautiful shape, as well. Props on inventing your own style of press. Totally sick that board only cost you pocket change
