New Upcoming Player, Dragon Queen (SHREDITA!!!)
This is our friend Bailey. She's been hacking for a while now, and Zach and I just realized the other day that she has freakish joints that allow her to hit flawless dragons. This video was only her second day doing stalls, but first day playing in Lavers. Zach bought them for her and she loved them and she fell in love with footbag last night. She wouldn't stop doing toe stalls dragons and inside stalls. She's gotten around 6 consecutive toe stalls... Oh yeah and she footed DRAGON SWIRL (not in this recording). She's coming to shred with Jon Schneider, John Goode, Corey Rich, (possibly) Mike Toolan, Zach Hoffa, and I tomorrow in Jersey. I think she'll learn a lot from everyone.

If Bailey were a man, would you have given him a nickname and his own video in the video section? Based on what you've told/shown us, she can do 6 toe stalls with incorrect form, and she can do dragon stalls by dropping the bag from her hand.
Don't get me wrong: the sport needs more female players, and we should be supportive of them. I hope she sticks with the sport. That said, let's not set the bar so low. If you had a male friend who could do 6 toe stalls and some dragons, without using the support leg to cushion the stalls, you wouldn't be calling him "dragonslayer" and putting a vid of his toe stalls in the video section.
I see no reason why Bailey cannot become a solid footbag player, and I look forward to the day when she is. Until then though, let's not succumb to "the soft bigotry of lowered expectations," as Bush once said.

So what you guys are saying is...
Shudder
But seriously, yeah she's got a lot of potential with that kind of flexibility. Hopefully she'll continue to enjoy it & stick with it.

Maybe if Nick keeps being his super-supportive self, and we keep being our critical selves, it will all even out in the end.
I look forward to seeing her game develop. Get her going on repeating clippers and toe stalls with the magic hop. Hopefully she sticks with it and learns some awesome stuff from some awesome people and has some of the awesome times that we all share!

Her third day playing, she was hitting toe> outside> toe bs, and some other cool stuff.
She kicked with Jon Schneider, John Goode, Corey Rich, Zach, and I today and she learned a lot. Didn't know I wasn't allowed to give my friends nicknames(?) Jon Schneider was thoroughly impressed with her today. She said she loves footbag and she really wants to stick with it. She is very eager to learn more and keep playing and she also said she wants to go to more jams.
Edit: And Matt, I shall keep being my supportive-self, no matter which nay-sayer says nay. With respect to her drilling... well, The Outsider gave her some footbag homework
You guys will probably see her at upcoming events.
Oh yeah and F*@K Bush.

Yeah haha I thought it would be kind of cool if people saw that there was a new upcoming female player in our sport. I know if I would have heard about a new girl playing footbag and genuinely loving the sport already hitting consec. toe stalls, and able to hit dragon, even if dropped by a hand, I would be all over that video. It's so rare that a chick actually enjoys playing footbag. And yeah, I plan on teaching her the magic hop soon, I mentioned it, but I didn't really drive it home. Cool thing is, she WANTS to use both sides, so the challenge of getting her to use both feet is non-existent.
More footage (taken today) to come of Bailey (with new tricks), J. Schneider, J. Goode, C. Rich, Z. Hoffa, A. Bourque (a footbag player that accidentally ran into us in Princeton today and had Lavers, who could combine flyers and stalls REALLY well, and has never played with anyone before, and had no idea that a crowd of players like all of us existed, he'll be on modified soon). Bailey is going to be practicing and drilling her stuff every day. Massive improvements are sure to come.

Nick from 2010, you're an asshole. I can't believe you would give it such a misleading title. I went into this thinking I'd see some realtalk, but this is muff cabbage. She had terrible form and her dragons were flukes. What a downer, man. Next time think twice before you post something stupid and meaningless on Modified...

Lol Nick.
Clearly this sport just needs some rope.
