Alright, so now onto the reason that I decided to make this blog.
Last weekend Erik came down to Toronto to visit me, and he got to see all his footbag friends, and I hung out with them a bunch too. It was really awesome because I don't really know much about different footbag players or anything, so when Erik told me that Eli Piltz and Caro Bourgeoin were going to come down from Montreal, I was like "Oh, okay, cool. That's nice that they want to meet you." But I didn't understand the BIGNESS of this even until he explained it to me.
Anyways, so everyone was so excited to meet Erik, which I thought was really cool, and it made him so happy, and so thus, my weekend was pretty sweet too. But the thing for me wasn't really seeing all these really good players play (Johnny Suderman, Eli, Caro etc...) because I didn't really know what they were hitting. (Trust me, I am sure that once I understand the moves and Erik tells me what was hit while I was there, I'll be like "What!!?? I witnessed that and didn't even know it???!!")
For me the most exciting thing was meeting Camille and Andrew here in Toronto, as well as seeing how excited everyone is about playing footbag. Watching Camille play was really inspiring to me, because even though I am 5 million times as unadvanced as she is, I thought...."hmmmm, if I work at this, I could possibly be that good" and if I get that good, then I could get even better.... So, watching Camille really inspired me to play. Also because I thought, "Once I get all of the basics down by playing on my own, here is someone that I would actually feel comfortable playing around...."
Wow, this is really long winded....but, meh...whatever, it's my footblog right? So....that was basically my highlight of the weekend, the realization that I want to improve basically. Meeting all those people was great too though! I can't believe how nice everyone is!!! I liked basically everyone tons.
Eli Piltz is really really nice (he definetly knows he is good....but I guess that is to be expected) I really enjoyed talking to him, and not to make him feel old or anything, but he is really "wise" shall we say... you can tell that is you wanted to talk to him about something, he would have a very definitive and straightforward opinion, and it would probably be very helpful. That was my impression of Eli. Also, I felt like....you know when people hug you, and you can tell if they mean it? Well, when he gave me a goodbye hug it felt nice and genuine, which I always like in a person.
Caro is really sweet. I love her style to no end, but that is definetly not the point. She is WAY more shy than I would ever have imagined her to be!!! She didn't really talk much at all, but when she did I liked her a lot, because she was one of the nicest people there.
I felt bad that we didn't hang out with them on their last night, but it most definetly wasn't because we didn't want to. It was just hard becasue I had restrictions...and stuff....anyways...I hope they had a good time though, because they deserved to.
I'm thinking I should cut this short, but I don't want to, so if anyone doesn't want to read it, they just won't read it I guess! I want to write all about what I thought about the past weekend because it is what has motivted me to play more.
Tom Mosher was the most excited guy I have EVER met, it was insanely nice!!!! He has this amazing aura of smiles and laughing and happiness and zest and everything!!! This will probably sound weird, but it seems to me that his parents must be so proud of him, becasue he loves life so much. I think that if I was in a position to be proud of him, I would be, because being that excited about life is just amazing and great and admirable and I love it!! (he also likes The Weakerthans and Dashboard Confessional, and planted trees sometime....I think.....SO, he is in my good books for sure!

) I really hope I get to meet him again soon(although he brings out the shyness in me....because he is so excited and outgoing...).
The other people I remember are: Johnny Suderman (I love that name, it's so much fun to say!), Adam Dexter, Jarrett, Billy, Joyce, Paul Toews, Jon Haber.....I know I am missing a ton of people, becasue there were a bunch of them there....sorry!!!
Anyways, I really liked Johnny Suderman too (I gathered that he is amazing at footbag, which I already knew, but apparently he hit a bunch of crazy stuff at this session too....which I wouldn't know) but he is also really really nice and humble and sweet. I really liked him. He was very nice. He thanked me for buying the pop and chips, and it was one of those genuine things again. I felt like it was a very genuine thank-you, and I like it when people are honest and genuine.
Adam Dexter I didn't talk to hardly at all, but he seemed very laid-back and nice also. He seemed to really like Erik, which was cool, and I wished that he had come over and talked to Erik and I when we were just sitting around watching, and he was watching to learn (he said). I hope he had fun too, because he seems nice.
As for Billy, Jarrett, and Camille's friend Joyce, the only things I really could gather about them was that they seem very good at footbag to me.
Oh! And Paul Toews and Jon Haber! I forgot them. Ummm, Paul Toews seems very intertesting....I don't know how to describe the impact I got from him. He seems really really cool, I don't know. The thing that stuck in my mind was that Andrew said that he was the "car salesman" of the bunch (a good debater etc) and he looks so far from a car salesman, but somehow that fits with him persona, he seems like he was a lot of good things to say. And Jon Haber I didn't talk to much, but he seemed very low-key and nice at dinner.
Wow, no one is going to want to read that whole analyses,
Anyways, so in the basement of my residence, we recently got a fitness room (room with a bunch of exercise equipement) and so I am excited because I live in the 3rd floor of a mansion (yeah...I know...hehe

) and it has hardwood floors that make much noise when I try to play on them. So I figure that a room in the basement with concrete floors, that is already designated for athletics, is perfect for improving in!!!! So that's my plan. That's what I was excited about and what I wanted to tell everyone, and thus the blog, and the long winded post about my GREAT weekend!!!!
So, now, I am going to go improve in the basement! Bye!
