Ankle Problems, I ask of All of You A HUGE Favor.

Post by HG »

I have injured my ankle, and both knees in the past 2 days because of the lack of support in lavers.

So i ask of all of you Generous, Loving, kind and awesome modified members,

DO YOU HAVE ANY SPARE, USED, BROKEN, CT 520S OR 300S IN THE SIZES OF 5-7 MENS?

i would really really really appreciate it if i could jack some suportive shred shoes of someoen in my size.

Thanks all

:D :D :D :)

Dude, that really sucks. I feel for you man. Unfortunately, I don't even have shred shoes myself as I got into footbag only in April. I'm just too slow to get me some support shoes. :P
but if I did have any, I'd mail some provided you live somewhere.....

You have to be one of the tiniest freestylers, good luck finding used CTs, etc.

I know you play soccer so you likely have a good stretching regimen, but I have noticed that you seem to be pushing yourself pretty hard and progressing extremely fast. Maybe instead of going all out, drill consistency and length every other session with attention to warming up/cooling down.

I used to think Lavers were horrible because of the shin splints and knee pains I would get from shredding but I gradually realized that it had more to do with pushing my body faster than it could get used to the stresses associated with shredding.

Just a thought. Happy healing.

I don't think new shoes will be the blessing of health for you, you better just take it easy, and watch your technique more. Injuring 3 different joints in 2 days isn't mearily because of shoes, it has to be the player also. I do agree though that the Lavers support is pretty weak, but you're probably going to have to stick it out with them. I'm guessing you like the lavers, just not the injuries that came with it. It happens though, just be careful ! Goodluck with your recovery.

these insoles help alot, they should say, "for high impact sports" on the plastic cover, and without good insoles u can get shin splints

Yes, Henry i also agree with Ted on this ; i'm also pushing myself
very hard to progress really fast, it kind sucks to be the "worst"
shredder in my club. And the last couple of sessions i was doing
well, and because i had so much fun going big, i went over the top
and now i have shin splints and a muscle injury
But of course, i kept on playing, doing what Ted suggested basically,
and i drilled easy stuff like butterflies, pdx mirage and so on.
Because this injury is affecting my right leg, i couldnt pixie with that
side properly, and since thats my only good set so far, i had to learn
it properly on my flip.
Doing so, i realized that i only got injured by just not doing the technique
right ; for my flip i had to concentrate on the movements more to make
it work.
Like that i got a decent pixie on both sides now, mainly
because i was thinking things through a bit more, and its
feeling/looking more effortless now aswell :)
Studying the components of a move, drilling and taking things easy
seems to be the way forward for over ambitious guys like us
Good recovery and a happy new year !

This is mine right here...the best thing since the thing before sliced bread. they are the most comftorble things I have ever put in my shoes. They also give incredible support.

Image

Comfort - Made with the softest gel you can buy.

Cushioning - Provides up to 2X more cushioning and shock absorption
than other gel insoles.

Massaging Wave Action - Acts like tiny springs to absorb shock.
Use in sneakers, casual and dress shoes.

And about the getting sore thing...My knees are shit. I use to play hockey (Yes that is right. Hockey in Texas) and when I quit they started to hurt. I just wrap them tightly with tape or an ace bandage when ever they act up and the pain goes away.
Also sometimes on my left foot in the Achilles tendon (ACL for short) hurts like hell after I kick for a long time. The other day I was drilling my Symp mirage and about an hour after I stopped I could not walk 5 steps without having to stop. But it only hurt in the ACL.
Heres a pic to show you what I am talking about.

Are you sure ACL stands for Achilles Tendon? Becauses I had an ACL Tear in my knee, and that reffered to my ligament tearing in my knee.

http://www.jointhealing.com/pages/knee/acl1.html

ACL actually stands for Anterior Cruciate Ligament.

Taken from the site above:
The Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) is a ligament that connects the tibia to the femur. It serves to prevent the tibia (leg) from moving forward relative to the femur (thigh). The ACL is in the center of the knee - it crosses the PCL - hence the name - "cruciate".
Sorry about straying of topic, but it's better to have the right information in your head, then the wrong information.

Carry on.
