abshire rippage, wtf!!!

anyone elses abshire rip before even breaking in all the way? i got like 5 small holes in different places, and some panels are alot bigger than other ones, and i can see the stiching poping out in a couple of places, anyone else get abshires like this? i get the impression that it was made very quickly or something....

hmmm... Strange.. Do you pick up the bag with your hands?? This might explain the holes... At worlds, I've remarqued that almost all american players don't pick up the bags with the hands, but with the feet... This kills the bag... really
For the panels size, and the stitch, I can't help you..

sounds like its been broken incorrectly, during break in you should finger the bag not stretch or twist, or roll, never pulm your bags. always use your fingers. breaking in a 32 pannle bag takes time so if u cant wait get a mr.sand with 32 pannles. i get the impression that you have no payshance. how long have u had it? holes come in time with every bag, but the way it sounds i dont think the holes are from time....

If you have holes in the fabric before it was broken in, and stiches are showing, and the panels are distorting to different sizes . .. sounds like a classic case of abusing the bag.

I think most people learn about the fickle nature of facile this way.

there is a HUGE thread about footbag break-ins on this page. If you look, we have shitloads of tips and 'techniques' there. Not even rolling. some people take it to other parts like washing, mystical beads, ancient footbag gods....etc

I've already read that post.. whoever said that those dryer sheets were good was wrong. I tried it on a 8 panel 'Franklin Suede Bag' and now the white panels are dirty looking.

HOWEVER< ShredNJ is a footbag stitch master. He knows his bags and I's reccomend you to put your bags in a small jar, put some shampoo (LIke me, I put H&S for the extra volume....only my hairdresser knows for sure!) and get the bag wet and massage the soap into it. Then, I would throw the bag into the air spinning to shake off excess water AFTER all soap has been removed and massaged the bag. After that, I would get about 10 sheets of paper towels and put the bag into 2 of them, massage it to get he water out, massage the bag, replacetowels, new layer and do the same until your bag is just damp. Then, let air dry for a couple hours.

ive got a hole starting to form on one panel after about 5months. Its fully broken in aswell. Its a bummer that theres a hole in it, but its not so big that beads can fall out of it yet. Anyone know wot to use to cover the hole up?
And stepping on the bag, putting heavy weights on it, scuffing it, rubbing the beads against the facile harshly will definately and easily put holes on the bag. Ive learnt that facile does get thinner as it ages and more prone to getting holes in it, so the best thing to do is to take care of the bag as much as possible in any way possible. Ive learnt how bags passed away by looking closely at the material and hole and the things ive done to it to cause it, my next bag will hopefully last a little bit longer...

This is what I use for those little holes. I'll put a drop or two on the end of a toothpick then apply it to the hole. The bag will absorb the zap-a-gap and form hard little shell around the hole, this will prevent the hole from getting any bigger.

Also you can cut a little piece of band-aid and put it over the hole and that will work as a temp fix.

or world footbag.com. The other goos thing they sell is freesole. I'd reccomend this stuff. It's really, really tough so it should be good used sparingly.

I used super glue once or twice and put it on with a pin... not sure if that's the best though, seemed to work ok

no i dont do "foot pick ups" im not a dumbass..... i havent even played with it for a week, but luckily i had someone here to sew it for me. i mostly broke it in by playing around with it in my hand and fingers.

If you did break it in nicely the only thing to say is, some bags suck! Every sticker makes some crappers and thats the problem with ordering online. Richie has made TONS of good bags but also a few that die b4 they have served their good. Every other sticher out there falls in the same catigory. Better luck next time.

Yeah that sucks. Richie really rocks, and if you send it back to him he will fix it I'm sure. He of course does not intentionally make a shitty bag. The bag I bought from him is still my favorite bag.

I can fix it if you send it to me. Just pay for the shipping costs and I will take care of the rest. I hate to see any of my bags have a flaw. I know sometimes players put too mush force on the bag and that will destroy it, but sometimes it is a combination of a flaw and bad break in.
