I like it, mostly because you did it like a ducking paradox flail bailed to flying clipper. Not really like a ducking symple butterfly, which is actually quite easy.
btw props, if you could throw that in a run that would be slick.

This move is unfortunately 3 adds...duck, dex, kick. If it were to be a stall obviously it would be 4. This trick is VERY styley though. Props.... According to the sympsosium rule, butterfly should be able to be symp. But i think the reason why it doesn't is that it's simply too easy. Don't get me wrong, the trick you did, Nate, is harder. I'm just talking about symp. butterfly itself...you mentioned that it should get an extra add, but the thing about the add system is that it gives a GENERAL level of difficulty to a trick. Around when I was starting out, I did a PS osis...i was really excited about it...then someone told me "uh...that's just a really styley osis...doesn't get any extra adss...but props man." That's pretty much what i'm saying.

well if a flying Butterfly is three adds then why isn't a ducking Flying Butterfly 4 adds. That would make sense but maybe it's me.

I think it is a little fuzzy because the notion of "flying" has never really been properly defined. If you define it as a "symple kick/stall" (a kick/stall where the kicking leg jumps off the ground while the other leg is in the air) then your trick does not meet that definition. If you define it as a kick/stall where both legs are in the air, then yours would qualify to get a body add for flying.
As to the whole symposium butterfly thing, I don't think in any sense it makes sense to call any variation of butterfly symple. If you say that a symposium dex is a dex where the dexing leg jumps off the ground and lands without the other foot planting, then butterflies can be symposium. Whether or not onewants to give it the body add is largely based on personal preference. Your trick is a little sketchier with respect to symposium because you kick the bag before the butterfly leg hits the ground.

Me too.
James, Butterflies can be Symposium but they can't be Symple. That's like saying a Pogo set is an uptime Symple Mirage, which doesn't make a whole lot of sense. And how does he not hit a Butterfly in that video? Haha.
Aaaaaanyways, when we were messing around with this, I actually didn't believe Nate could put a duck in it. But he did, so I'm impressed.

Good call. Although, I don't know how when his foot makes contact with the bag has anything to do with how the dex is performed.Your trick is a little sketchier with respect to symposium because you kick the bag before the butterfly leg hits the ground.
