That could be a good rule. I think that was part of the original idea, too. I think that would make it a LOT easier to judge which editing style you like better. I've thought about that , but raw footage, well, are the biggest files out there, if left uncompressed. The file sizes couldn't be transferred via internet, and then also the length of raw footage would be really long, because when you edit, you might start with 20 minutes - 2 hours of footage.
