Pardon my ignorance:

How can you judge someone to be *the Best* in a sport with arbitrary judging like freestyle? What makes someone the best? Beign bothsided? ;) Unique Links, Pure Huge Tricks? Putting it all together, how do you weight it without bias. I might like Huge tricks, but Mosher might like both sidedness. This argument seems sort of nuts. Granted, Vasek has won 3 worlds in a row (CorrecT?). That makes him good. Maybe the judging was bias towards his style, who knows. I am not disputing the caliber of either of these players, but this is what makes me insane about freestyle, is the lack of defined *competition* (Sorry, Im a competitive person). Like Footbag Net. Manu right now is the best. Very few people beat him. wait. Nobody beats him in tournament play. But its a scoring system, not judged. Just my 2 bits.

Cheers

When i read Matt's post, and he commented about Vasek partying, i understood that as pointing out that Vasek had other interests that were also time consuming. Where as Jordan takes footbag seriously as a hobby and a sport. I am biased because i know Jorden personally, and I know that he is incredible as a footbag player and a person.

I do think Jorden is going to take Vasek out of the #1 spot.

and i agree that videos are a poor way to judge two players, and that if you want to compare them....put them together in a circle and see what happens.

okay. Jordun.

I think that one letter has been as mixed up as possible now...

wait...

"Jordyn"...

there we go.

okay, brief synopsis...

Vasek is WAY better right now. Jorden's skills, dedication, creativity, and physical ability lead me to believe that he'll overtake Vasek as the best in the world in the next 2-3 years. Sorry that I let a trivial statement get me going on such a tirade. I don't think vasek (whom I have met) is immature or a jerk, as far as possible from both things. I was mad because I didn't like the picture that that statement painted of our champion, but I definitely got carried away. I'll try not to respond to things negatively after I've had 2 large cups of coffee in the future ;)

Man what a hectic topic!
I couldnt be stuffed reading all of it.
Im pretty embarassed for the whole forum that this topic was even brought up. If i were either Vasek or Jorden id be pretty annoyed that this discussion was going on, it achieves nothing.

But thats not for me to decide.
This will be hypocritical of me now but: 'to stay on topic:'

Vasek is far and away the greatest all-round freestyler ever and will be for several more years i would imagine. Theres no question.

Fo real! This thread has a tabloid feel. Don't sweat people so much. they're just people.

For real, what if they are reading this? And people are talking about them like they know them (aside from those that actually do). We have a small sport and its likely they're reading this and getting pissed.

And if they aren't responding or posting a video or even reading this? it's true that the internet is a place where the footbag community exists to a large extent. But many times people post shit here and think it's golden where noone could have read it or cared in the first place.

Vasek has won 3 worlds in a row (CorrecT?). That makes him good.
:? no. He is good and that´s why he won 3 worlds in a row, and not the other way...

Footbag 30 Second Shred is based on every single contact. Pretty strict rules really.

Quote Ben said " Manu right now is the best. Very few people beat him. wait. Nobody beats him in tournament play. But its a scoring system, not judged. Just my 2 bits.

30 second shred= Scoring System. Vasek's never lost. I was 4 points short.

Actually he lost. Honza beat him in Shred Thirty Seconds in Copnehagen on 6th Annual IFPA European Footbag Championships last summer.

Fair point Lon.

I was referring to Routines though. Not Shred 30.

Cheers
