It seems like these topics come up every few months.
The fact is you can't really control what other people do as well as you can control what you do. If you believe that it's better to post at .org - I personally believe that the best way to do this is personally make the decision to post at footbag.org and not at modified. I've gone through stages where I've done just that - but I guess I've come to a stage where I'd rather be playing footbag or doing something more constructive than reading forums most of the time so I'm happy to post on either forum.
I don't really mind if there is one footbag forum or thirty.

I have no problem with that.
I like modified, but it'd be better to sort of, standardize a forum, so all of us can be in one place. Taking down footbag.org, is obviously, stupid, since that has goobles of information.
There is just something about modified that I like though...I'm not sure, but if modified were to go, I'd follow.

Always gotta put my two cents in on this topic when it comes up
There is no reason not to have two or more forums. As the technology evolves it's not going to matter one way or another - it's ALL going to be about RSSyndication.
At this point, I post pretty equally across the forums wherever there's a topic that interests me. I consider myself "forum agnostic"
What I simply cannot understand is those of you who think there is some difference in atmosphere between .org and modified based on "moderation". We don't really moderate at all - never have - so the argument is baseless.
I also cannot comprehend anyone calling it "the modified community" or "the .org community" - we are all the footbag community - where we hold the discussion is of zero relevance.
I would be sad if modified was shut down, but by way of offering some critism of modified, I'd have to say that having the forum administrator entirely absent from the scene and totally unresponsive to his user-base is a bad thing. Not to say anything bad about Jeremy (a guy I've never met), but what the fuck is up with him? It'd be easy to hand control over to someone who gives a shit and that could make this place even cooler than it already is ... is anyone else tired of the phpBB logo?
Outta time - it's been fun as always
Peace.

haha, i want to go got Australia just so I can meet you Jeremy.
I dont see how eliminating modified is going to help anything. There are quite a few footbag forums the last time i checked. I know that there is at least 1 canadian, the shredita forum, and maybe a french forum. There is at least a couple more european forums as well.

Well then belay your criticism Allan, for I have great news.AllanHaggett wrote:I would be sad if modified was shut down, but by way of offering some critism of modified, I'd have to say that having the forum administrator entirely absent from the scene and totally unresponsive to his user-base is a bad thing. After too many failed attempts to contact Jer I have finally gotten in contact with someone better. Jer left Modevia (his web hosting company) almost 2 years ago and they have been hosting modified as a favor to him since then.
They have agreed to grant me access to the server since Jer is totally absent from us and unreachable by them as well.
So from now on I have a contact and server access. Between those two things I think the very least you can expect is to see an end to the 'phpbb' logo in the very near future.
I'm happy.
