I voted Vasek, but only by a slim margin. I don't think it has anything to do with competition so that part didn't affect my voting at all. The only thing that keeps Jorden from being better than Vasek at this point is that Vasek is still going and going strong. He hasn't quit playing as hard as Jorden is playing so he's still innovating.
Jorden stiil has a few linkages he needs to make in his game, but otherwise I think he's not that far behind.

In terms of strings, I think both Vasek and Jorden have epic ones. I think Jorden has more variety in his strings, but i think that overall, vasek's strings are much harder.

Although Jorden's links are amazingly difficult, Vasek hits harder links. C'mon, who hits superduperfly>backside fog!

I think this debate should be settled by a game of "horse" at worlds

Man...I just got done watching "Wack Session" and I almost created a new username to go back and vote for Jorden. He is one tricky dude.

I think string difficulty can be equated by the following formula:

String length / frequency of bails in a guiltless run.

Where bails are butterfly, osis, pdx mirage and ducking clipper (maybe can include pixie/fairy/stepping/spinning/atomic clipper)

If you look at Vasek and Jordens strings, technically Vasek is better.
Vasek generally more commonly has longer/harder 'hard spurts' in his strings and less commonly has bails and consecutive bails (eg pdx mirage>butterfly>osis) in strings.

Does that make sence or am I just flappin my gab?

I`m not going to enter the main part of this discussion, because its fucking idiotic. But just to address the post above mine, here is something to consider.

When a player does a BOP, it`s not always a bail. The definition of a bail for me is doing a trick you didn`t intend to do. Sometimes I will try for tomahawk, but my balance isn`t good, so I bail to ducking butterfly. Ducking butterfly isn`t a BOP, but it is a bail in that example. When a high level player does a BOP, its not always a bail either. I remember videos of Lon doing several same side butterflies in a row, which was clearly for style, and he clearly meant to do them. Those moves aren`t bails. They aren`t hard, but they aren`t bails.

Is throwing lots of BOPs in your runs easy? Generally yes. But there is more to being good at footbag than just add ratio. When Jorden or Lon play, and throw in controlled BOPs in their runs that flow well, I really don`t mind. Sometimes I find that preferable to repeated ripwalks.

I think I misused the word bail.
Ken, what I meant by bail was the moves I listed, pdx mirage/butterfly/osis etc, they are moves that good guiltless players generally use between hard moves/combos in their runs, that is what both Vasek and Jorden do in their runs.

What I was just trying to say is that Vasek does longer hard combos than Jorden and thus has less BOPs in his strings.

It's all good and well that Lon uses BOPs a lot because its part of his style, but putting style aside, and looking at raw skill and ability, Vasek wins.

Sometimes Vasek does about 1,000 ripwalks in his strings while he thinks of other stuff to hit.

That's what it looks like at least.

??

I don't think I've ever seen Vasek do more than two consecutive ripwalks.

As for the bail thing, I agree that a bail is a move you didn't mean to do, but there should be some word that refers to tricks below your level. Guilts actually works pretty well, but it has too technical a meaning.

ie: the ripwalks in Vasek's runs are guilts since he so effortlessly busts blurry whirls and blurriests, and the toe delays in my runs are guilts since I so effortlessly *cough* bust legovers and pickups.

The ripwalk thing was obviously an exageration...sorry it was a dumb post anyway...
