yeah they're hard. But I know I can do them.
I spent today going over the footage we have. I have a stupid amount of footage - like maybe 8 hours. Admitadly probably about 3 or 4 of those hours are people doing stupid things not related to footbag, but it's still a lot. I'm actually going to have to cut out runs I had decided were good enough for the vid which is cool. I'm sure you don't want to see the same combos being hit twice. There should be some really good footage anyway. Probably not anything amazing - at least from me since I was playing on a knee injury the entire time (hence the two week break coming up) - but I think the footage is still more than worthy.
The goals are going well. I'm on my 3rd beer for the week - but that's fine. Although there's still over half a case in the fridge - same to let it go stale...
I watched Sin City for the second time tonight - really cool movie. Will definitly go see it when it comes out at the theater...
Other than that, things have been pretty unexciting. My footy team got flogged again last night. We're like 2 and 4 - which is really sad.
My relationship with sport is weird. I think it's pretty meaningless on one level - and yet the euphoria sport can induce is incredible. I guess with anything, if you work really hard at something and then achieve beyond your expectations, you'll love that feeling - you'll become addicted to it.
I don't think I've felt that incredible high from sport very often. Winning bronze at my first national touch footy tournament is definitly one of those moments. As is scoring the winning touch down at the state schools tournament on the moment time ran out. I don't know if I've ever had the same feeling in footbag, but I'm sure one day I will. Definitly I love footbag way more than other sports - but I guess I've always felt like I'm trying to get somewhere in it - every improvement means I have more to improve on. One day I'll feel like I've reached the peak - that will be like those touch football moments.
Ah ha - my brother's girlfriend has just agreed to give me my brothers t-shirts. The ones that she doesn't like - but that's cool. You'll see two of them in the vid!! Don't look at the logo - look what it says...
Oh I caught up with the coolest friend the other day. I hadn't seen him in years - but he was one of the guys I played footbag with at school when I was just starting out at freestyle - over 3 years ago now!!
Last time I saw him was in the middle of Melbourne at nearly midnight - he had an ironing board under his arm...
I'm a very unsentimental person. I believe that if you can't remember something, it's not worth remembering. But everytime I bump into old friends I wonder what other old friends are doing now. It's amazing how some of us are completely different and others are exactly the same. I think I'm pretty similar - except maybe a little crazier. One girl from my class at school now has at least three children - probably more by now. That's pretty crazy. Another friend is dead from a stupid car crash where he was drunk, speeding, didn't have a drivers licence (being too young) and wasn't wearing a seatbelt. Actually that happened just before I started playing footbag, and sometimes I think the reason why I got into the sport - the reason why I was so fanatical in the beginning, was because I was trying to get over my grief. I don't know if I ever really will, but I guess you learn to accept events like that.
Life really is very short and precious. My god this is a ramble - and I'm not even drunk... How does this happen. I guess sitting at a computer for 8 hours going over raw footbag footage can do that to you...
Oh well, I should hopefully be finished tomorrow or the day after!
