Do you play any other sports Mr. Laroche?
Nope, I don't want to jepordize my freestyle game.

Anyway, I've stated my opinion and I have nothing important left to add. I dont like street and think its ridiculous, and nothing said on this board will change my outlook.

OK :) Fair enough. I know you're not alone in the community.

The irony is that I started doing trials because I couldn't "flatland" shred because my shins were so sore from the constant, repetitive impact and twisting.

That left me sitting on the benches surrounded by stairs watching and absorbing all the frestyle energy around me. I generally still had tons of energy, felt good and wanted to shred - it was only when I started playing that the pain became intense. Given my skateboarding roots, what followed was simply a natural extension of my game.

I didn't publish "Like Water 2" (or "Like Water" for that matter) to a sound track of Bruce Lee talking about his philosophy of the Martial Arts by accident. I relate to his words very strongly and I feel that "I am honestly expressing myself" when performing trials.

I guess I was a skater before I was a freestyler, so perhaps I just don't care as much about my footbag career as some people do :) Perhaps I know that I'll recover from a sprained ankle and live to shred another day.

About the anti-social nature of Freestyle Trials: I actually sort-of agree on that. Don't be stealing the bag off from a circle and attempting that shit! Trials are a solo, side-line, freak-show type endeavor that should not be confused with the traditional circle :D

Peace.

that's a sweet idea

I've been really experimenting with trials alot lately, it's a huge rush to hit moves off ledges, much more difficult and looks alot more entertaining to spectators. I'm obviously playing it safe and not pushing my trials alot but I always make sure I try one or two combos with multiple surfaces. It's definitely a very exciting (imo) addition to freestyle footbag.

That said.. OTTAWA IS FULL OF SWEET TRAILS AREAS (ahem Tofushred Canada Day) Honestly, if you dig it come bust in ottawa.. PLZ!

I think certain moves off ledges are easier. Especially smog, its so hard for me to hit on flat but I can hit it good off a ledge, weird

I smeared off a 1 step one time and really twisted my ankle badly.

I'm pretty nervous about ledges anymore.

It's slightly off topic but.. Has anyone ever tried a front flip or back flip. Ex.: you do a front flip over the footbag in mid-air to catch it on your stomach, then you pop it back or whatever when you land. It would be cool to see the backflip with that too. Frontflip to backflip.. hit me up with a link if anyone ever did that.

I make it a point not to hit any tick a hacky sacker could come up with.
Sometimes after a long tripless string people will come up to me and ask, "can you do a pendulum?" I always answer " that ones just to hard."
