To Anssi:
well I don't know about the others, but Vasek has done that before. Not tripless though as far as I know. For example in FFO-04 Vasek had genuine shred 30 with 242 points.

I think the clock starts on the first add, and the count starts on the first guiltless trick. So by that reasoning, the clock started on his toe stall, and the count started on blurry whirl. Therefore, he did NOT have more time. He barely got the mobius in... the bag left his foot for the spin on mobius right as time expired, which means that the mobius was the last trick that could be counted.

The current official rules for footbag (as can be found in the files here http://www.footbag.org/groups/list/1 ) don't actually have any mention of when the time starts.

Personally I'd say that it should start when the first scoring move starts. The rules also have no mention of what happens to a move that is started before the time finishes but ends after the time is up. I recall Ellis Piltz saying that the move counts in this circumstance - which sounds like the best option - however since there are no official rules regarding this - and the rules document stipulates that any updated rules have to be posted on the website - I think it all depends on what the tournament director or appropriate person at the tournament decides.

Awesome! Its really a shame Vasek doesn't post here.

Wow, i remember his 2003 shred 30, and that was impressive. But totally tripless and totally unique? I admit the beginning was pretty one sided, but who cares, it looked plain old cool :)

All his tricks just keep getting more solid. Its amazing.

Big props to vasek :) And thanks for posting that clip

Enough Gay talk, this is why Eric Windsor chose to quit foobag fools.

So yeah, Evidence for coming up with more exact rules for the shred 30. Nobody seems to know when to start OR stop time and what moves count if there is an overlap.

If Vasek barely got 30 tricks in 30 seconds then what chance does anyone taller stand?!?

I have a tripless Genuine Shred 30 planned out with 6 5's in it but I plan it for 28 moves exactly in drill format because I run out of time after 28 moves.

I've only done 25 though, I'm 3 moves away.

I have nothing against gay people (just for the record) my girlfriends uncle and cousin are gay and I get along with them great! I had no idea Eric was gay :?.

Lon if you dont mind me asking why do you care how shred30 is judged or if it is unfair to tall people like yourself...
Here is something you wrote a short time ago:

NOT GOING
Does your shred30 include any ducking moves? If so you might consider removing them. Notice that vasik did not duck once in that shred30.

It seems that the competition being unfair to the tall is something that wont be changed too eaisily, have you considered surgery? I am sure they are able to make you shorter somehow these days

hmmmmmmm. yes that was incredible but.

golly gosh those double down moves just aren't uniques. Does anyone argue that toe butterfly and infinity are unique? NO, and if you were as good as Vasek thats how easy paradon and barfly would be. Does anyone arugue that toe torque and clipper torque are unique. No, probably because they have the same name, or maybe its because its the same move, like paradon and barfly.
Vasek obviously thinks there uniques because why else would he throw them but....hmm I geuss I've lost focus here. cool shred 30. 27 uniques.

I argue they are unique.

Jobs notation makes it perfectly clear why they are unique, and it's the same reason toe blur and smear are not the same, in case you were wondering.

Are they to be scored as such or are they to be binned into one trick is the question, and I've always favored scoring them as unique.

I even think the butterfly variations should be scored as unique, it won't help you win.

Yes, actually, uniques do help you win in shred :30 - uniques are everything in shred:30.

I'll be the most vocal opponent of this "everything is unique" attitude :)

I think we should raise the bar on what constitutes "unique". All of this "sort-of-different-so-therefore-unique" garbage is holding us back. I'll say it a million times if I have'ta. I think it's the worst thing in footbag right now other than player apathy.

But let's not totally hijack this thread for this argument. There's another thread around here that deals with it.

Vaska's routine there was the BOMB!! :) I loved the little shrug at the end :)

Indeed, we already had this discussion. It's mostly semantic. I prefer to reward variety, while keeping everything unique. You prefer toi encourage variety by discarding uniques. Either way we want the same thing.

Nice job vasek.
