The day before yestersay I went to go see Easy Star All-Stars at the Santa Monica pier. They're a reggea band the does pink floyd covers. The show was of their new album Dub Side of the Moon, they're amazing.
While we where their we hacked and I hit 2 pedulums in the same hack, it was sexalicious! :P I also hit BSOS Pixies in mid hack, and it was a long hack too.

It's so good to hack w/ my friends I've been out'a town so I haven't been able to hack w/ anyone for a while

I couldn't stop laughing the whole blog! I read it all at once   Your first "freestyle footbag" was the first "hacky sack"/footbag I ever owned. And it looked like that in 3 days...then I crotcheted a cover for it, lol....

I hope your "club" doen't end up giving anyone a bad name....like slapdash...who you've already insulted by mispelling his name twice and using his term for something bound to flop. JOIN a footbag club when you start, don't MAKE one...unless you HAVE to...and since LA and Boise are two great scenes....oi

Good luck to ya

I'm very glad you liked my blog :D
...and I agree, due to not enough participants, Sack-Religious is officially, on hold (and probably forever), if anyone wants to take the genius name and try to rebuild the club feel free, I would ever support that, but so far I can't seem to make it work

...But for the few members of Sack' you guys rock and should forever be know as the guys who rocked..... a lot!!!... of rock....ness? and sack-religious, uh 'ness.
(that was supposed to be a huge complement by the way) :P

EDIT: PS. sorry if I gave someone a bad name, that was totally the opposite of my intetions

naw, rock on dude, your totally into it, you just let your enthusiasm take you away before you fully understood the organization we've got going already. I'm sure if you put the extra energy straight into your practice that if you ever move to a place without a club, sack religious will rise to the top in no time :-) Meanwhile, practice hard, and if you ever get to worlds you may get to meet your new sack religious friends.

And sorry to be so harsh before... I just didn't want you to get further into it and be more disheartened later. And never be discouraged to go hit up the good guys around you, they're all real friendly and can give your game a real boost any time you play with them. :-)

Peace,
Bum

Ah, its been a while since I just talked about shredding...
Well the other day I hit BSOS Pixies probably my best move, I can do a pedulum on command but I've only got it to stick to my foot once, usually I just pedulum it to someone or to a toe hit so I can keep my run going. Still no luck with my Clipper Deleys though (I've done one in my entire life). I've been blaming it on my shoes, so I think it will be a shock when my Lavers come in the mail and I realize that I'm still just as good as I was with my other shoes. [Sigh :( ]...
Any motivation?... :)

Motivation?

If you keep trying I PROMISE you you will get crazy good. So much crazy gooder than you can possible fathom at this moment.

Just have faith in yourself. You seem to have enough enthusiasm for two players, so keep at it and soon you will be a foot god.

I just invented a move, I think. I hit a Pendulum [bdx], it was awesome I didn't even mean to.
Hmmm, what should I call it... any help?

[bod] means a 360º turn right?

[bod] means a 360º turn right?
[bod] actually stands for Body, and refers to a broad category of moves. [bod] is an ADD (additional element of difficulty) category that covers the point awarded to a trick that has a spin in it, or a duck/dive, or a jump (Jester has one [bod] ADD for the jump involved, and one [xbd] {cross-body} ADD for contacting the bag with your foot while it is crossed behind the other, for a total of 2 ADDs), a symposium element (difficult to explain, but in short: not putting your foot down on the ground when you would ordinarily need to, in other words, doing a move while hopping), or a paradox element (also too difficult to explain properly here, but could be thought of as starting a move from the wrong side of the body such that it makes the move more difficult {some moves are not thought to be more difficult no matter what side of the body they are set from, so paradox is not automatic, it applies to specific circumstances})

The body ADD category basically covers movements involved in a trick that are done by moving the whole body, as opposed to, say, circling your leg around the footbag (circling your leg around the bag while it is in the air is the essence of the [dex] ADD category, dex being short for dexterity), and something like a back-flip or cartwheel would surely be considered a [bod] ADD, though things like that are rarely done.

The Pendulum is actually considered to have a [dex] ADD, making it a two ADD trick, one ADD for the basic toe stall involved ( [del] for Delay) and one ADD for the carrying the bag while it is on your foot. That carrying motion is actually given a [dex] ADD, though this is kind of a compromise because, I believe, when the ADD system was initially invented it was simply not obvious what sort of ADD a pendulum deserved. Carrying the footbag, as in the Pendulum, is clearly not the same thing as circling the bag with your leg while the bag is in the air, but, well, it seems clear that its got to get an ADD for something.

Anyway, your trick, while very cool (its an old favorite of mine, actually), would actually be considered two tricks, not one trick. The pendulum is one trick, followed by a spinning toe stall.

It has been a recent subject of debate whether or not a pendulum can be combined with another move to make one more complex move. Some feel that doing some sort of move before the pendulum would make a new, bigger move (spinning pendulum, for instance) and some feel that whatever comes after the pendulum should be considered to be added on the pendulum (penduluming spinning toe, for example). The jury is still out. The conservative view would still consider your trick two seprate tricks. In any case, I'd keep working on that stuff if I were you. Its fun and cool looking, and in the end, this game is about doing fun and cool looking things with your feet and a little bean-bag.

Doesn't the bag going over your head count as a [duck] hence it would be the third ADD?

Anyway, I think....

1: The pedulum is its own move, and a move starts when the footbag leaves the initial stall and ends when the footbag is stalled again. So having a 360º spin while the bag is in the air (before the finishing stall) would just be making a completely different/harder move.

...or...

2: The pedulum is only the part where the bag actually travels from the toe back and over the head/shoulders (so a pedulum doesn't need a finishing stall, but its not a move its just a component). In this case a pendulum could be added to any move just to add ADD's (I'm not sure whether the pedulum [del][dex] component would be worth 1 or 2 ADD's though. After all who says a component can't be worth 2?). Therefore you could have a move like
pendulum[del][dex]>same out [dex]>clip[xbd][del] which would be 5 ADD's

Maybe I should make a pole.
