Shame on Freedom Footbags for charging $4.00 shipping?
In that case, shame on www.worldfootbag.com for charging $4.00 too (they do 5-10 times the business I do).
And on footbag.com for charging $5.00.
By the way, I had free shipping for over 6 months... sorry you missed out on that. I'm not sure that you have any idea how difficult it is to make a living making footbags.
I'm still working on trying to come up with a reasonable way to charge proper shipping costs across the board. I had to ship a hoodie and an Abshire to Estonia, and it cost me $14.00. This isan issue we are working on, but we don't have a huge budget to pay web professionals to develop a mind-blowing website. The $4.00 on shipping helps to pay for stuff like that, and other odds and inns, like food
.
Now, I would like to sincerely apologize for not getting back to you on the Abshire. I was actually thinking about this this morning. I had already contacted Mr. Abshire about the issue. However, my business computer is currently in the shop, and on top of that, my email has been totally down for the last 3 days. I'm not sure what happened, but I think the server that hosts freedomfootbags.com, and my email, was and is severely compromised. Mr. Abshire has already addressed the issue though. I just wanted to let you know that you were not intentionally ignored.
Peace.
P.S. I remember one company that tried charging only $1.00 for shipping... It just didn't last that long as it is not a sustainable situation, IMHO.

Daryl I'm pretty sure that was a joke about the $4 for shipping. Of course my bags cost $35 US including shipping - so that is cheaper overall
Although of course I don't have the experience or the reputation that Abshire has... yet
Just some points. When bags get holes in them - 99% of the time it has nothing to do with the stitcher. The 1% is if they have bad filler - ie glass beads or something with sharp edges. This is very rare. So it's silly to blame the stitcher when your bags get holes in them as almost certainly it is not their fault but your own.
Personally I treat my footbags like they are Ming Dynasty Chinese Vases - ie. I am as gentle with them as I possible can be. I also wash regularly (me and the bag
). In regards to breaking in - taking months is ridiculous. I have never had a bag that took anywhere near that amount of time. (except for my Hermey, but that's because I lost it under the stove a few days after getting it and didn't find it again until I set the stove on fire - a month or two later). Roll your bags around in your hands and kick them lots and they will break in fine. If you do that and you don't think they are broken in after a week or two (working on them every day of course) then your definition of "broken in" is wrong. Probably you are used to playing with sandbags and expect the 32 to be like that. You need to learn how to stall properly with a 32 panel bag.

My most humble apologies. I was trying to give some advice re: bag care since that's what this topic is about and I think everybody who use 32 panel bags would appreciate it. I'm sorry, I should have realised that this topic resolved solely around you and that it had been resolved. I will try my best not to make the same mistake twice. I bow to your wisdom and knowledge of footbag and your social skills. Please, if I ever bother you again let me know right away.Jake Raye wrote:I can stall properly. I didn't blame the stitcher either I was questioning the material used for one color of panel - orange. I bought a mini because I didn't want it to play like a sandbag .. I hate sandbags.
The bag was breaking in fine I was just trying to elaborate my disappointment with the tears in the bag by letting you know that it was not even fully broken in yet. If the stitcher WAS to blame I was not placing blame on him like maybe I should have. Should I have Jeremy? You can blame Richard if you please but I was not and am not. Jeremy why are you even saying anything?; the issue has been resolved.
Daryl I wasn't really serious about the shipping - but you'd probably be doing yourself a favor by charging the actual shipping cost. Next time you ship to Estonia you'd prevent a loss.
