For the first time ever, I forgot to bring my shoes to a session at the YMCA. Oh boy, did I feel sheepish. Fortunately for me, Rory is the best and let me use his outdoor Lavers - they felt a lot heavier and didn't have as much support as my own (I have two insoles in my Lavers). With his babies strapped to my feet I felt as though my style changed - the only way I can describe it as is Roryish. Nonetheless, it did turn out to be pretty good and the foursquare that we played in the middle of the session was really fun.

- Weakside Ducking Pdx Torque
- Vertigo and Spinning DLO bs (not new)
- Void bsos
- Pdx Whirl x 13 (new record)
- Pdx DLO and Gyro DLO bsos
- Tombstone bsos
- Phoenix > Blur > Phoenix > Blur > run with Ducking Butterfly > Sidewalk > Ducking Butterfly > Sidewalk
- 16 contacts of Rubberman
- Rubberman with Reactor instead of Legbeater :D
- Reactor > Ripwalk > Blur > Reactor > Ripwalk > Blur

After watching videos of Johnny and seeing how much wow-factor his game has, it's pretty intimidating. Now I don't want to put out videos of myself :? :( .

My right ankle has been acting up these past few days so I've been avoiding doing too many Clippers. Now I'm drilling some toe tricks in the hopes to add a bit of variety to my already predictable game, and now all that drilling has been making my hips sore  .

- Double Switch > Tap > Double Switch > Tap
- Symp Mirage > Double Switch > Symp Mirage > Double Switch
- PLO x 26
- Toe DLO x 8 on strongside, x 7 on weak
- Double Spinning Clip > Gyro Osis (finally starting to grasp Double Spinning :) )
- Smear x 13 on weakside, x 10 on strong

That's about it. When this ankle clears up, I'm anticipating my game to go coocoo-kachoo :).

Thanks mate. I need your number though Sam, and I need someone to boot me in the ass to remind me to call you guys. A kick with the Montanians, that's what I really would like nowadays :( .

I made a short video with some footage that was on my computer. It can be found in the Video topic but, because my shoes stink after a session, I'll give you the link here.

A Short

6 megs
1:14

The ankle is getting better, that's for sure. It's still a bit sore when I use it too much but if I do it sparingly then all is well.

So I guess I'm back to babysitting again, which is alright by me. So far, I've d/l'ed 2 gigs of footbag videos on their computer and plan on burning it all to a disk. Yay, early birthday present for Byrin!

Well, 3am in Onoway and I still need to do my stretches. Tomorrow after my session with Rory I'll write a bit more about what's been happening these days. Until then, take care :)

Today I ventured into the city to have a kick with Rory. It was real nice outside so we played in his garage with the garage door open, listening to one of his MP3 CDs. It turned out to be really mentally beneficial for us, allowing us to explore into the world of extreme fatique yet push on.

We kicked for, I would say, just over 3 hours. When an hour and a half passed I was spent but kept at it. The last hour or so was spent to achieve longer strings. Our goal was twenty contacts, which may not sound like a lot but when you are already exhausted and you normally average around ten and under, it is an incredible feat to shoot for.

We both ended up achieving what we set out to get. We both had two runs over twenty contacts and approximately 3 - 5 that were above fifteen. Afterwards, we agreed to set new goals every session for us to strive for which would benefit our string length.

With that said, we stretched and I headed home (with a few goodies courtesy of Mrs. Dawson - thank you!!!). Some of my highlights:

- The 15+ contact strings
- Pixie ss Symp Whirl bs
- Pixie (same leg) Symple Rev. Swirl
- Gyro DLO > Pixie ss Symp Whirl
- Vortex > Torque bsos
- Stepping Whirl > Tombstone (can't recall if I got it bs, but I know I tried)
- Ducking Clip > Stepping Clip > Ducking Clip > Stepping Clip > Ducking Butterfly > Sidewalk > Ducking Butterfly > Sidewalk
- 14 contacts of Whirl War 1
- Pdx Whirl > Gyro Osis > Pdx Whirl > Gyro Osis
- Smear x 15 and x 16 (records for bs)
- Rev. Swirl x 3 and x 4 (records for bs)

==========================

Alright, so I said I would type a bit about what's happening nowadays so I shall.

Like I said in my previous post, I've started babysitting again for my aunty. Now I pick my cousin up from school and look after him until late evening - I'm certain that this is a 5 day a week procedure. I also look after him on Saturdays, though I'm not sure for how long - last Saturday it was 12 hours but I guess it depends on what my aunty needs to do in the office.

So yeah, that will pay for the gas I use to head into the city to kick. I've also been doign some studying to help my father. He would like to venture into the world of affiliate marketing, unfortunately he is not one with the computer - that's where I come in. I understand it can be a gamble but I believe him when he says that we have an opportunity, one in which we can not pass up. I'm also goign to start to learn how to build and manage web sites which should be fun and entertaining.

Then there is footbag.

I'm really training hard for Worlds, pushing myself to bust big because I know I have what it takes to be good. I'm alright now, yeah I hit some big tricks and maybe a sick link here and there but when it comes down to the wire - I'm just not at the point in my game where I can say to myself "I'm as good as I want to be." That sounds strange and probably stupid but I know that if I started out doign things differently - or should I say properly - I could have ended up to be much better than what I am now. With that mindset, I'm really taking a step back and drilling some key components that I feel would help bring a lot of variety.

String length-wise, I'm working hard to improve that as well. After today's session I feel as though my string length has just bumped up two or three contacts. I also walked away with something else; when it comes right down to it, no matter how tired you are, no matter how heavy your legs feel, it's all will power: finding that strength inside of yourself to keep the bag in the air and not thinking about the fatique or how tight your muscles become.

That's the lesson that I learned today, and let me tell you something - it fucking owns.

Expect a video within the next few weeks Modified. And expect it to be good.

Today was my day off from footbag, so it really felt like I had a lot of time to spend to myself. Well, what felt like a lot of time went really fast.

I awoke at around 10:30, got my butt out of bed just before 11 and had some breakfast (Shreddies!), did the dishes then hit the computer to check out modified. I was online for maybe an hourish, then decided to start editing for my next video. I did that until around 1:30, then decided to hit the machine. I've started working out and doing some running (on the machine, it's like a walker sort of thing where you stand on it and it sways with your leg movements) on my days off so I can build up strength and endurance for when I do kick. I pushed myself really hard and kept a fairly fast pace throughout, burning over 600 calories in about 34 minutes. By the time that was all said and done, I cleaned the bathroom and picked up my little cousin whom I babysat for 3 hours.

So yeah, I've been keeping busy for sure. I'm eagerly looking forward to kicking with the boys at the YMCA tomorrow evening, and may very well have a quick session in the afternoon to take some time to drill some components and try some of my challenges. By the looks of it, I have the whle weekend (and week ahead) off from babysitting so that means more housework and studying for me to do. Maybe even more footbag if my ankle is up for it as well.

Anywho, some goals for tomorrow's quick shred:

- Go over BOPs
- Go over Pixie, Stepping and Atomic sets quickly
- Work on Torques, Double Downs, DLOs and Blenders
- Hit a twenty contact run with a reasonable amount of BOPs
- Try a few challenges

Hopefully that will turn out to be a good hour - hour and a half session. We'll see how it goes...

I can't believe it's already nearing the end of September - my father's 50th birthday was today and my 19th birthday is on Friday! Woah! Where does the time go?! Three days later, it's my mother's birthday as well.

(My sister is the adopted one - her birthday isn't until April  )

So Friday turned out to be a really good footbaggin day. In total, I played for about 5.5 hours. The afternoon session was 2.5 hours and I kicked at the YMCA for about 2.5 - 3 hours. All in all though, I was really happy with what went down.

The afternoon session:

Go over BOPs (just a touch)

- 20 consec Butterflies, Osii and 20 contacts of Butterfly > Pdx Mirage

Go over Pixie, Stepping and Atomic sets quickly

- 10 unique pixie string
- Dimwalk > Side > Rip > Rip > Step Clip > Blur > rpt
- Rubberman

Work on Torques, Double Downs, DLOs and Blenders

- Barfly > Down Double Down > Barfly > Down Double Down
- Torque > Butterfly a lot
- DLO > Op toe a lot
- Blender > Blender bs

Hit a twenty contact run with a reasonable amount of BOPs

- 23 contacts, 11 bops :D

Try a few challenges

Completed 4

I always kick better when I'm with Rory and Kevin so the next session turned out to be really good as well.

- Smog > Smog bs (second triple > triple :o )
- Stepping Whirl > Tombstone > run bs
- Pdx Whirl > Pdx Drifter bsos midstring
- Rubberman with Pogo Pdx Mirage instead of Blur 8)
- 3 challenges completed
- A lot of runs that were in the high teens and beyond :D:D

And that's all I can remember at 2:12 in the morning. Now I just need to do my stretches, perhaps have a glass of milk then get some sleep. Tomorrow I'm going back into the city to kick with Rory. Fun times shall be had by all!

Well I haven't been online these days, mostly because on Saturday I treated myself to a new PC game - Heretics Kingdom, The Inquisition. It's an RPG and not quite what I wanted (was hoping Morrowind would be in, but alas it eluded me) but still quite fun. I am a Ranger/Archer, really fast and I can do a shit load of damage with a Bow and Arrow. I think I'm almost done the game, and when I do complete it I'm going to replay it as brutally strong melee character (the heavy armour and Battle Axe weilding mofo).

Sunday I didn't get to kick with Rory because he was too busy, so I kicked by myself. That session was a good DLO and quantum set (I can do those now :o ) drilling session. Today, I awoke to Kevin phoning me. I phoned back and he wanted me in the city by noon. That gave me twenty minutes to eat, change, wash up, and feed the dogs. We filmed then kicked. After I got back, I ate then had yet another session to get some footage to finish my video.

- Smog > Pixie ss Mirage > Smog > Pixie ss Mirage
- Smear > Pixie ss DLO > Smear > Pixie ss DLO
- Toe Blur > Toe Blur bs
- Slapping Mirage bs
- Quantum Pickup bs
- Quantum Legover bs

- Phoenix > Blur > Phoenix > Blur > Phoenix
- Rubberman
- Plasticman
- Whirl War 1
- Drifter > Pdx Drifter > Drifter > Pdx Drifter
- Tomahawk > Sidewalk bs
- Tombstone > Sidewalk bs
- Blurry Flail
- Plasma
- Fog > Smog > Pixie ss Double Down (first triple triple!! And all new links!) 8O

Due to some events that will be unfolding within our family, I am forced to get a job to pay the bills. I guess it shouldn't be too bad - I'm going to try and make a visit to the lumber yard and see if they need a helping hand (my father has a friend who works there that stated they need help) and hopefully that will work out. It's only a ten minute drive, so it's easy on gas.

Only two more days until my birthday! :D

Just finished up with a 2.5 hour session AND my video is now uploaded. Check it out in the video section or right here:

When Things go Boom

Comments are very welcome!

The shred today was pretty good. It was a drilling day and I ended up breaking some personal records and hitting new tricks!

- Gyro Clip x 17
- Spinning Ducking Clip x 3 bs
- Pixie ss Mirage x 17
- Symp Mirage x 12 and x 10
- Dominatrix bs
- Juno Reactor
- Backside Dominatrix

On Friday, my birthday ( :P ), I hope to give myself a gift of hitting my first quad dex and a new 7 add. Wouldn't that be nice!

Thanks Pawel. Yes, it's over now but I'm still awaiting a few more gifts ;)

Yesterday at the YMCA was sweet. So many good things went down, and in general I played real well. Some highlights:

- Bladerunner
- Pandamonium 8O
- 36 contact run with Zooming Gyro Whirl (first ever attempt)
- Zooming Gyro Whirl bsos
- Gyro Whirl > Gyro Whirl
- Blurry Whirl > two small clipper kicks in quick succession > Blurry Whirl (wasn't supposed to happen  )
- Rubberman x 2
- Symp Mirage > Flail > Symp Mirage > Flail > Symp Mirage > Flail bs
- Pogo Blur > Flail
- Scorpion's Tail > Whirling Swirl
- Gyro Osis > Spinning Ducking Clip bsos
- Kevin Windsor'ing me with Orangutang

Hopefully Rory is available to kick on Sunday. Perhaps Kevin as well, that would be sweet.

Sorry, Byrin, my phone died the other night when I was talking to you. I was going to charge it, but then I ran into Brenticles and started celebrating D-Day...for the past few days.

Cheers! A man, eh? Yes... a machine, er... man.... :D .

All is good Sam, I thought it was my phone that cut out on us so I guess that makes me feel better  .

On Sunday I spent 56 minutes on our machine. 56 freakin minutes, before I could only go for about 30 or something. Over a thousand calories and lots of water later, I almost felt like kicking but held off that until today :)

I kicked for almost 3 hours. It was good, though my ankle was acting up a bit. I went over a lot of things, especially Blenders at the end.

- 18 contact pixie string with 16 unique
- Gyro Whirl > Whirl > Gyro Whirl > Whirl > Pdx Whirl > Whirl > Pdx Whirl > Whirl
- Pdx Blender bs
- Spinning Blender bs
- Food Processor bs
- Pixie Blender bs
- Pixie ss Blender bs
- Stepping ss Blender bs
- Gyro Blender bs

And I guess that's it. Yeah, the rest was mostly just going over things and whatnot. Most of those tricks I've hit already but it was really satisfying to hit so many harder Blender tricks in one session - Mindbender was unsealed (sooooo hard) but blah, maybe not at this time.

Tomorrow I hope to have another kick. I don't know what I'll work on though...

Not a lot has been happening over here. I'm taking it real easy, since my calf has been bothering me these past few days. Tomorrow I'm going to head on down to the YMCA and see how it's feeling. My guess is is that it won't be too great but I want to kick!

Some random thoughts for the blog...

- I just beat the GLA campaign for C & C Generals. That was easy. Last mission I had 8 SCUD Storms. Psh.

- My father phoned earlier this evening saying he got me a job (if I wanted) as a surveyer up north. If I wanted it, I can be working on Tuesday. The guy would pay for my training and house me until I can get on my feet. Starts out with 11 an hour. It sounds good, but my father and I are going to discuss it more when he gets back home. Maybe it would be something to pursue for the next while? I don't know what that would mean for footbag - I will certainly get in shape but as for how much I'll be able to play, well, who knows.

- I really really want to get Morrowind! I think tomorrow I'm going into Barrhead to cash in a cheque I got for my birthday and then pick up some more RAM for the ole PC. But garsh darnit, I want Morrowind!

- Yesterday I went on the machine for 62 minutes. Hell yeah, that was a marathon. I think I did 2.6 something miles and burnt over 1,200 calories. Afterwards, I ate some carrots then some chocolate fudge cake  .

- Mr. Irish's new trick is soo sweet. He must be one of the most co-ordinated man in the world!

You're getting Morrowind, eh? It's a pretty fun game. Get the game of the year edition so you get Bloodmoon and Tribunal. The island they added in Bloodmoon is cool. That's where I always hang out at. If you want the stragety guide for it I can mail it to you...I think I have two of them, but I'm not sure. I'd have to look through all of my crap.

Can I have the job if you don't want it?

On CC: Generals, when you're the ragheads, be sure to download some Arabic music to declare your jihad with. :P
