Both Jeremy and Hagesy were late to arrive in Brisbane. There were waiting around at the airport, waiting for their tickets to be booked!
Caroline picked Jeremy up when he arrived and I met them at Carolines place, just as she was leaving to get Hagesy.
While we were waiting, we watched 'The Lions Den'. - Not a bad little flick, that!
Jesse had Youth Group so he wasn't able to come for a night session and I couldn't get in touch with Foxy. However, the four of us ended up having a session in at the Piazza. It was supposed to be a quiet one, butLike THAT was going to happen.
We played for almost 2 hours before headding to the pub for a couple of beers.
We were also joined by Caroline's boyfriend, Steve. And 'old skool' Canadian who hit a really cool 'Jedi' trick, among other nice stuff.
Hagesy was really impressive with his consistancy, and Jeremy was just awesome.
I played alright but my knee gave me a little bit of pain near the end, so stopping was a good call.
SAT.
Jeremy, Hagesy and myself had a late night on Friday, but headed off on time for the first demo this morning. When we arrived at the venu we were introduced to the three Milo stall members who were all friendly and easy going. We got our shirts and grabbed a few of the promo footbags to have a look at. (they suck)
There was supposed to be 1500 kids at this place but, by the time we left, they were lucky if there was 100 all up. We had very little intrest, other than the general amazement that footbag brings with it.
Hagesy hit Pixie DLO twice!
It was pretty hot and the three of us worked up a sweat pretty quickly. Caroline and Jesse were pretty late and we ended up organising for Jesse to just meet us at the second demo.
The second demo was looking really bad as far as playing surface was concerned. At the first on it was un-even 'lawn' - the second was like a cow paddock. There was alot of dust, rocks and un-even mounds every where, with just a small level patch to play in front of the stand.
We started out in the hall, just freestyling in the shade and going hard. Much awesomeness from everyone there.
Eventually we had to move outside into the 38Degreeheat. It was more like 42Deg in the shade - and we weren't playing in the shade.
We took turns shredding with Jeremy and myself interchanging with Jesse and Hagesy.
Maybe it was the heat and exhaustion that we were feeling but, at times it didn't seem like the work load was shared equally at first. However, Caroline, Jesse and Hagesy ended up finishing off the demo as the shade started comming in.
There was alot more people at this second event and it was a little frustrating at times as our circle was interrupted by people walking through.
Two incidents did occur - me kicking a girl in the arm who didn't seem to notice and just kept on walking, and a stray footbag brushing a womans face, although she walked away looking like she'd just been slapped. The second incident was due to one of the kids kicking the milo demo bag up high and away, with the bag brushing the womans face on it's way down. - nothing really to it.
Jeremy hit 36 whirls which was way cool.
I was really happy with my run length, generally. It feels boring at times because I feel I have no variety, but when it comes to demos - most tricks look the same to noobs, anyway. So, just keeping the bag up is a good thing.
Hopefully Jesse or Jeremy can post on some of the other highlights that were hit today.
Dispite the farked up heat of the day, today was a good day. Lots of coolness from everyone both in their shred and just in being who they are. I'm looking foreward to playing with Jeremy again, in Melbourne, next year.
One down, one to go. Then I can recover through the week.
