Hagesy, regarding spins... just do what works and call it 'style' ;)

Nice work on the drills.

PS. I let off some more fireworks tonight. The first one was a parachute kind of thing. It fired into the sky with a loud ass bang then sprayed all these sparks out. Then it went onto a spinning flare of purple and silver sparks before falling to the ground. The other was one you tie to a tree or something and its supposed to spin around like crazy doing different coloured flares but instead the fuse went off instantly and wipped my mates in the face then just sat there letting off this effing bright flare for like 2 mins lighting up the whole area. We piss bolted.

We are about to go let off the rest of what we have. There are some huge mf's to go
Hopefully back one day.

I am still there... lost in the moment. It's still with me, even now, hours after.
I'll forever be stuck in that instant, untill it comes round again.
I can still feel myself half crouched with my momentum sending me round again. The sensation is still on my foot - right where it should be.
I guess I'll just have to keep spinning and go from there.
But I did keep spinning. It was at that instant that I knew I had to. There was no going back, I had to keep going.
It felt so right and I'd had it ON MY FOOT for, what was it... five attempts, now? I knew it had to be comming, and here it was... That instant.
That moment where a simple catch or a drop would make or break me.
I was almost bent double from the impact and, maybe it's my form but I was spinning and it was on my flipside. I guess that's not a good thing when you're trying to seal it for the first time.
I came round and spotted the bag. It was right there... just out of reach. If I could dive forward...
And I did.
But it was out of reach.
I had just missed a sealing catch from ps whirl.
I collapsed to the ground and felt like my mind was gone. The whole thing felt like a joke. I'd been cursing and laughing at how close I was comming tonight, and now I had had the perfect(?) set from it... but just couldn't seal it. The bag had actually gone up, off the foot! That's got to count for something?
My eyes were closed and covered by my hands. I couldn't believe what had just happened - most of it was on autopilot.
And then Caroline was standing above me... I don't remember what she said. All I remember was where that bag was as I began that spin to hand catch. It was right there...
And yet...
I told her no. It wasn't good enough.
Maybe that broke her heart? She'd been watching me for a while now and I'd been comming so close... so close. But not close enough.
I felt I'd be cheating myself if I called it good.
I wanted to.
Newton knows I wanted to.
But it just wasn't good enough. I didn't make it in time.
And even now, I see the bag. It's there, but in a place too far.
I can see it... But I just can't touch it.
PS Whirl is comming, and not even Newtons evil spawn can stop it.
It will be mine.
Oh yes. It will be mine.

Tonight was a good session as you may have read above.

I had PS Whirl off the foot about 6 times, and even had a really nice upward motion of the bag after one attempt!
I 'nailed' my clip>mirage>ss butter>far switch>opp butter>mirage>ss butter>far switch>opp butter drill and was starting on the second set when I dropped. That felt good.
I'm really starting to hit stuff out of osis, rather than toe stalls. That's a good thing.
Ummm... Pixie mirage>tripwalk (Not sealed), tripwalk>ducking clipper... some other bigish combos (for me), but not much else stood out.

Spent most of the night listening to Katalyst, then went to Plumb DJ's. I think that helped me with the night. I think it also helped Caroline, too.

Caroline has had a bad week, by her account, but still managed to hit Symposium Mirage twice!!! Huge props for that!
Also hit some pixies, and a pickup or two.
She's got a cool combo of an inside stall wrap>mirage that looks really stylie on her. Her clippers are comming along slowly, but she didn't play this week, so...
She also worked on her consecutive mirages a bit. I think she said her record was 8! Awesome!!!

I spoke to Alex Urano on the phone after the session. He had called but missed me (due to mr ps whril). We had a good chat and it sounds like he's comming to Brisbane in December! Can't wait to have someone else to shred with!

Bad news for the week, however...
Saturday I was keen to catch up with Foxy... to have a chat and find out what's going on. I left a message on his answering machiene asking if he was keen for a kick on Sunday.
No responce.
I spoke to a girl who I know he has spoken to in the past, and asked if she'd heard from him and she said that she'd spoken to him briefly today about comming in to Southbank and he had said he would see how he went.
I don't know what's going on and I wish he'd call me as I can't get in touch with him.
The same thing happened last year!

I've asked Alex to post info about his trip up. It's during the school hollidays which should be good for Jesse, too.
It would work out better if you came down at the same time... bigger event! I might have to organise dinner at an Indian resteraunt, too.

Well, it looks like it's up to Hagesy and I to keep the BCS blog on the first page as Jesse is being a tight-lipped biotch.

Kinda silly, but I can understand why one would do that. I just don't think he's doing it for (the right) reasons.

Anyway, update on the Brisbane scene...
I got in touch with Foxy last night. It seems he's had a bit of a bad trot of late - small car accident involving a dog, throwing his back out, and getting bitten by a spider!
Well, they say bad things come in threes, so things should start turning up, now.

Tomorrow (Sat), Ken and Jeremy arrive in Brisbane for the Foxtel Birthday Bash on Sun. We're going to have a session tomorrow, and I'm thinking that Southbank would be the best option, or the Uni car-park near my place. We'll see what the weather is like.
I intend to do little playing, and more filming tomorrow and again on Sunday. This should give me plenty of footage for the X-mas calander thing as the one I'm working on has kinda stalled.

Ummmmm. Other news (unrelated to footbag), I've applied to join a CS: S clan and things are looking good. All I need is a good player name as [SHOOTER] NotHisRealName is a bit long IMO.
