Still injured but feeling a little better. Just a quick update that I went out and bought some g-g-g-g-g-g- gee units! They're white ones unfortuantly but they were the only pair available in the store and the whole point of getting them was because of the convienience of not having to wait for a pair bought on the net so I went for it. They feel good. I couldn't help myself but had to hit one move with them - ps whirl and I haven't dropped with them yet so that's cool. Haven't modded them yet either but I will in a few days. It's kind of good becaues it stops me from playing. I think I'll take the whole week off and play on Saturday.

Who'd have thought that 50 cent's shoes would become one of the hacky sack players shoes of choice... :)

I'm not sure if I jumped off the bandwagon or jumped on to it. Probably jumped from one to the other but g-units are definitely cooler than lavers I think :)

Jeremy says:
(36 - 12)+(3x-5x)=3x
Jeremy says:
oh sorry
Jeremy says:
the 5 should be an 8
Jeremy says:
so that works out to be 24-5x=3x
Jesse says:
36-11x+-12=3x
Jeremy says:
it's not -11x
Jeremy says:
4(9-2x) +3 (x-4)=3x
Jesse says:
4(9-2x) +3 (x-4)=3x
36-8x-3x-12=3x
36-11x-12=3x
36-11x+-12=3x
Jesse says:
thats my working
Jeremy says:
it should be plus 3x
Jeremy says:
not minus 3x
Jesse says:
in which step?
Jeremy says:
step 2
Jesse says:
ooooh

Jesse says:
ooooh
Jeremy says:
"36-8x-3x-12=3x"
Jesse says:
oh yep
Jesse says:
my bad
Jeremy says:
so you get 24-5x=3x
Jeremy says:
so now we get all the x on one side
Jeremy says:
so we plus 5x to both sides
Jeremy says:
because 5x=5x
Jeremy says:
so 24=8x
Jesse says:
x=3
Jeremy says:
divide both sides by 8
Jeremy says:
yep
Jesse says:
hmmm
Jesse says:
ok
Jesse says:
so the steps are as follows...
Jeremy says:
expand brackets
Jeremy says:
group like terms
Jesse says:
4(9-2x) +3 (x-4)=3x
Jeremy says:
oh right
Jeremy says:
I was speaking generally
Jeremy says:
4(9-2x) +3 (x-4)=3x
Jeremy says:
therefore
Jeremy says:
36 - 8x +3x -12 = 3x
Jeremy says:
therefore
Jesse says:
yep
Jeremy says:
24-5x=3x
Jeremy says:
therefore
Jesse says:
fark...
Jeremy says:
24=8x
Jeremy says:
therefor x=3
Jesse says:
4(9-2x) +3 (x-4)=3x
36 - 8x +3x -12 = 3x
24-5x=3x
24=8x
x=3
Jeremy says:
yep
Jesse says:
ok, im still confused with the transition from step 2 > 3
Jesse says:
this is what I would get
Jesse says:
if I did it
Jesse says:
36 - 8x +3x -12 = 3x
36-11x-12=3x
Jesse says:
I group the like terms
Jesse says:
8x and 3x
Jesse says:
oooooooooooooh
Jesse says:
HANG ON!

Jesse says:
im retarted
Jesse says:
36 - 12 = 24
Jesse says:
lol
Jeremy says:
lol
Jesse says:
24-11x=3x
Jeremy says:
yeah but it's not 11x
Jeremy says:
3-8=-5
Jeremy says:
-8+3=-5
Jesse says:
-8x+3x
Jesse says:
yep yep
Jesse says:
ok, I was reading it wrong.
Jeremy says:
it doesn't matter which way you put them around - it still =-5

followed 20 minutes later by

Jesse says:
Jeremy says:
sorry I was just helping jesse with some n00bish maths
Jeremy says:
he got confused as to what 3 x 1 equalled
Jeremy says:
he thought the answer was -3....

Jesse says:
lol
Jesse says:
it does equal -3
Jesse says:
also, newb and n00b have two different meaning
Jesse says:
s
Jeremy says:
no you're wrong - the answer is postive 3
Jeremy says:
definitely
Jeremy says:
I know this for a fact
Jesse says:
proove it
Jeremy says:
3 x 1 = 3
Jesse says:
-3 *
Jeremy says:
there is no minus 3
Jesse says:
lol
Jesse says:
Im just being a little bitch
Jeremy says:
I'm going to post this in my blog now

Had a fun day yesterday - played chess with Glenn at Franklin Square and then went to a bbq where I got fairly drunk. Also played soccer (Ps vs Vs ;) ) which was fun. Did the best cross of my entire life (on to the head of Glenn who scored) and discovered my general foot co-ordination in soccer is a lot better than I thought and maybe all those people have a point :P. Also played cricket later which was more fun. I played well and hit some girl in the shoulder while bowling and bowled her out next ball - pwned. Got to work drunk but had fun and nobody noticed.

Today I had a bit of a session - first in my new g-units! Despite not having played for a week and having brand new shoes, I really felt like I was finally playing with the same energy I had 2 months ago. It's sooooo good to be able to play footbag with energy. The g-units rock. I don't think I'll ever go back to lavers. Hit some cool stuff in them - which is especially cool for first session in brand new shoes.

The highlights were:

whirr>blurriest (flip whirr)
blurry whirl x 5 (a new personal record)
pdx whirl>flurry>legbeater>into a run
pdx blender bsos - I've done this before, but it felt soooo easy in the Gs
pdx torque>pdx torque - again I've hit this before but not as easy as it felt today.

Mainly I drilled stuff though and didn't go for many hard combos. To begin with most things felt different and it took some time to understand the changes but once I figured the shoes out they were awesome. I think the toe moves are a little harder but encouraging me to hit clipper moves is a good thing and it also just means I have to be a little more precise with my toes which also can't hurt. I'm sure as they break in they'll be even better!

Hey nice shit Jeremy esp Whirr blurriest thats nice

the G units are really working for ya then? im thinking of getting a pair when i get home. I guess ill have to hunt for the good ones though. how did u go with modding them in the end? whats different about them than the other ones? are they good for your ankle crank?

Hey i arrived in Galway, Ireland last night and found a bottlo that sells Aussie beer! ie. not just Fosters
they had Coopers, Crownies, VB etc but i settled for a nice James Boags, it was really good with my sausages, baked beans and fried potatos dinner mwuhahahaha

RESPECT!! :D

g-units are awesome for ankles. I can hit like 20 osis every attempt pretty much now. Also can spin a lot better - especially on my flipside and my clipper moves feel a lot more solid.

Modding was very easy - just get a sharp knife and cut a few stitches in the insides to get a "start" and then cut away the leather - it's much eaiser than cutting the crap from the inside of lavers. Toes were a little more difficult as it's harder to get a start but still didn't take long at all. The toes are obviously the issue with the g IIs. My toe game is really really solid and I didn't have too many issues but I think players with less solid toe games might find them a little hard to play with. I don't really know.

Been playing a lot lately. Getting a bit better. Hitting nice combos and some cool stuff. G-units rock. I feel like I have a lot of very solid fives now and I seem to mainly drop easy stuff like pdx mirage because the shoes are a little heavy and I get lazy with easy moves :P

Bought a video camera today and a nice lens. Very cool. Will post up a teaser video next week maybe but mainly going to try and make cool videos rather than solo vids.

rock.

Oh I heard a cool story today. An friend of an aunt of mine was in either Newcastle or Sydney (the story was pretty vague :P) and saw a bunch of guys kicking a bag around (unsure if they were any good or not) and said something like "cool, you're playing footbag" - to which they responded "wow you know what it is?" and she said "yeah I know Jeremy O'Wheel" and they were like "wow, he's really good etc." - my head is even bigger :D.

Soon I will be a mega super star with all the perks like money, fans and a serious drug problem :) 8O

edit: also my grandfather just died. Actually he's not my biological grandfather but explaining the complications of my family is too complicated - just accept the fact that I have 4 parents. Well three because one is dead but I still have 5 grandparents left (out of 9). He was old and it was going to happen sometime soon. Still it's always sad when people die.

edit 2: I scoff at you n00bs with only 4 grandparents. I've lost 4 and I still have more than you.

I wrote a poem the other day to try and express my feelings about death. It's fairly unoriginal but it made me feel a bit better so it achieved it's point. I thought I'd post it anyway, I guess it's a bit of an insight into how I feel. I find it so hard to express my emotions so this was as close as I could come I guess. In other news my new camera is charging and rocks.

----

The black monster

The black monster waits, waits, always waiting,
I never see it but it’s always there, waiting.
Black like those moonless overcast nights
In unknown streets with wind and emptiness.
I hear it sometimes, sense its presence.

Sometimes it disappears, goes away,
Perhaps completing other foul deeds,
Or perhaps lulling me into security.
Other things distract me, I begin to forget.
I question if it’s real or some figment of imagination.
Like a bad memory it returns and waits.

I have never seen it but others have.
They whisper dark secrets and their eyes
Dart around to shadows, the dark places.
Some barely saw it at all, a glimpse,
But others bare scars from battles in dark places.

Although I know that monsters are not real
And that this is just a metaphor for death,
The phone calls in the night to say
That one of those you loved has lost that fight
Bring the monster closer, till I feel its wet breath on my neck
And feel it gnawing, gnawing, gnawing at my mind, my soul

yeah very happy :) - cheers.

So I had a little session today and filmed. I don't know if I'll make a vid of it because I hate solo vids but it was great for improving my game. I do so many unneccessary movements - I can definitely tighten up things a bit. Hit a few nice combos though. Whirlygig>whirr>run was definitely the highlight. Also my camera rocks!

That part made me think of the loss of my first grandparent (I'm a n00b). :(

Whirlygig>whirr is neat!

cheers,

Had a kick today being filmed by Glenn :) Was fun. Hit a few cool things. Will make a video of it in the next few days I guess. Although will do very little editing. Hit a few nice things but nothing amazing. I noticed that my whirls look way cleaner in rewind :P - most of them are clean anway - I think there was a flip stepping whirl that was "the" but looked good backwards. Weird...

jvc something.

Made a 4 minute video today but couldn't get it to encode very well. Various technical difficulties. Not sure if I'll post it online or not - depends how much trouble it is.

edit:

Oh and I convincingly beat my unique fearless record today (now 11) on camera! But don't expect a video anytime soon - I'm saving all my good footage for something more serious than an internet video. You can always come and play with me in person.

I rock.

Yeah, I think I commented about how exausted I was for the entire trip. I think I hit a big fearless combo on the first kick of the tour in Brisbane though - no sleep, work, stress etc does have an effect on you. It was funny though when you kept saying "I think everybody had a good session" and I kept thinking - "but I hit runs like that on video months ago".

It was funny - Max was asking me my fearless record last night (7 or 8 at the time) and I realised I could almost certainly break it. The key was to hit hard moves at the start into bail fives that I could play from. I hit 8 and 9 today before getting 11 but haven't hit 10 yet. I'm glad I planned past 10 - actually I planned like 15 unique but bailed out of the 11 to pdx mirage I think. Next goal - break 250 in shred 30 comp/demonstration this weekend :) Apparantly it's going to rain though so might have to postpone. :(
