Culture's Confirmed...

Post by Sidi||TOFU »

Hello all,

We have a very diverse group of individuals who use modified.ca to share our common interest. But I am curious to know about the countries and people of where you are all from. What are some things which make you proud of your country? What are some things which people from other countries think are true about your country but aren't necessarily the case? What are some stereotypes you wish people didn't have about your country? And what are some things you wish people knew about where you live?

Through some of my own experiences:
1. The saunas and beers in Finland are true.
2. Not all Canadians love hockey (but I certainly do)
3. Canadians don't hate Americans, only Bush and those who voted for him.
4. We call baguettes French Bread, in France they call our sliced bread American bread.
5. Footbag remains footbag regardless of the country :):):)

What does the rest of the world think about Canada?! What do you know or wish you knew about us!?

There was a comedy show about a ten years ago in Finland, it was called "Kummeli".

One joke was a parody about the quiz shows, this time the theme were the countries. They showed some "music videos" from some country that were really stereotypic and even a 5-year old could've guessed the country right. There was always "Team France" or "Team Germany" etc. there in the studio trying to guess the right country.
And every time, no matter what country was the right answer, they answered:
"CANADA!"

----

As you can see, I don't know what to think about Canadians. Of course we love them, because Canada is the second bestestestest country in the world.
