Over the last two weeks, I only got a chance to shred twice...

My school had its musical last Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (the musical was
Cinderella) and it went great. I played the lead trumpet part in the pit band, so I had rehearsal almost every single day from right after school to about 8:30 at night for the past 2 weeks. It was really fun though! I'm gonna miss playing the music!
Anyway, to the shred part. I kicked once last week after gymnastics, but I only kicked for about 30 minutes. I just hit long strings and I can finally hit completely guiltless runs without trying too hard!! I'm really happy about that, plus my flipside has been getting much better now! My flipside stepping is catching up to my strong side. I can now hit all of my strongside stepping moves on my flipside. I just have to build up consistency on the flip though.
I also kicked on Saturday with Jon, Dane, and a new kid (I think his name was Tom). It was a pretty good session; I hit some new combos that I had never hit before and I hit a toe torque for the first time. Jon and I played HORSE while we waited for Dane and Tom to come over. Jon beat me the first round because of all of his fairy moves, but I won the second time (I got him out with a symposium whirl). It was really cool because in the first round, Jon hit toe torque and he thought he had me beat (so did I), but I nailed it perfectly and it felt so smooth and easy! Then he hit it on his flipside and although I got close, I didn't hit it. At least now, I know that I can come close to torques on my flipside! I also hit flipside stepping far legover midstring, which was a pleasant surprise and I hit stuff like pixie ss clipper > sidewalk, pixie ss clipper > blur, and pixie ss clipper > schmoe, all on my flipside stepping. I gotta work on my flipside pixie sets though, so that I can start hitting these bsos!
I've been sick since Saturday night though (after the musical's final night). I didn't get a chance to shred yesterday because of that and I'm missing school today as well. Hopefully, I'll feel better by the end of the day, so maybe I can get in a bit of shred on the "day off."
