Thanks TJuggles! I kicked for about an hour yesterday with Kyle and Jon! I was just a relaxed session and the only reason it was over so fast was because I was too hungry to shred. Infinities have become really easy for me now; I can hit at least 10-13 everytime I attempt them! Ripwalk back-to-back has gotten a little easier too!

I just hit my usual runs...but I almost had spinning clipper bsos and I footyed spinning mirage a couple of times too! I also hit clipset symposium mirage bs for the first time and I got close to ps mirage! Kyle's strings have been getting smoother and longer! He hit a couple of runs that started with either pixie legover or smear; his clippers are getting better now too! Jon was hitting a lot of runs with his crazy toe shuffle stuff with occasional toe torques mixed in!

I didn't shred today, because I needed a day off. I've been kicking almost daily for the last week and a half! I'm happy to say that I have improved a lot though! Today, I shot some pool with a friend and then went bowling for an hour! We played almost 6 games and my average was 149 (I had one bad game that pulled it down from 164 to 149)! I also bowled a 190 today! I really thought that I was gonna break the 200 barrier, but no cigar! My games were pretty consistent though, except for one! Anyway, hope you enjoyed the read! :)

Hey Eric, I would love to come down to Navy Pier to kick with you guys, but I have an interview for one of my colleges from 2:00 to 3:00 that day. After that, taking the train would add another hour or so. So, I don't think I'll be able to make it down there this Saturday. :(

I had an interview yesterday for Yale and I had one today for Harvard. They both went really well! :) The Yale one took about an hour and the interviewer was cool (he was an ER physician) because I want to go into medicine eventually and we discussed science in general for a while and it was really fun. The Harvard one today lasted only about 20 minutes, and I was really surprised that it was that short. The interviewer was a relatively young guy (in his late-20s) and it was a pretty fun interview too! Both the interviewers were also involved in music and we ended up discussing that for a little while too!

Anyway, because of those interviews, I had no chance to shred this weekend (I was nervous so I spent my time prepping for the interviews). This next week is going to be busy because I'm in the musical pit band and we perform this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. So, I won't be home until around 9:00 pm from school each day (just like last week). It's really fun though so I'm fine with it! Next weekend is gonna be a huge shred weekend though and I'm really looking forward to it!

On another note, Kyle, Dane, and I are planning on doing some footbag for the Variety Show at my school in April. We're almost positive that we're gonna end up doing it, but we're still in the early stages of planning. We're probably going to just hit long strings rather than big tricks, but we're not completely sure yet. Any suggestions would be great! Hope you guys enjoyed that non-footbag related read!

Big tricks are cool, but only to those people that understand what is going on, at least in my opinion. Longer strings are much more appealing to the eye, and simpler tricks, ducking and spinning are more eyecatching to the audience, plus they can better gage what is going on :D
Also, make sure that you make sure everyone knows that you are have fun while shredding. In other words, SMILE :D If people see you busting, but you almost look mad, it makes it seem less appealing, but what do I know  Good luck!!

Props on the school interviews pimp.

My time @ Harvard was great. You'll have a great time if you go there. :)

They've got to take you anyway, you have the classes and extracurriculars of 3 geniuses! :)

*cough*WashU*cough*
I think I'm killing all ambition you might have had for the place, but I would kill to have someone of equal skill level to kick with. Hope the Variety Show goes well!

Yeah, we were gonna just do long strings for the V-Show. We figured that long strings would be better because they would be easier for the audience to understand, rather than hitting a big trick, which the audience wouldn't know much about. Plus, big tricks for us (footbaggers) might not really seem impressive to the audience.

Over the last two weeks, I only got a chance to shred twice... :? My school had its musical last Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (the musical was Cinderella) and it went great. I played the lead trumpet part in the pit band, so I had rehearsal almost every single day from right after school to about 8:30 at night for the past 2 weeks. It was really fun though! I'm gonna miss playing the music!

Anyway, to the shred part. I kicked once last week after gymnastics, but I only kicked for about 30 minutes. I just hit long strings and I can finally hit completely guiltless runs without trying too hard!! I'm really happy about that, plus my flipside has been getting much better now! My flipside stepping is catching up to my strong side. I can now hit all of my strongside stepping moves on my flipside. I just have to build up consistency on the flip though.

I also kicked on Saturday with Jon, Dane, and a new kid (I think his name was Tom). It was a pretty good session; I hit some new combos that I had never hit before and I hit a toe torque for the first time. Jon and I played HORSE while we waited for Dane and Tom to come over. Jon beat me the first round because of all of his fairy moves, but I won the second time (I got him out with a symposium whirl). It was really cool because in the first round, Jon hit toe torque and he thought he had me beat (so did I), but I nailed it perfectly and it felt so smooth and easy! Then he hit it on his flipside and although I got close, I didn't hit it. At least now, I know that I can come close to torques on my flipside! I also hit flipside stepping far legover midstring, which was a pleasant surprise and I hit stuff like pixie ss clipper > sidewalk, pixie ss clipper > blur, and pixie ss clipper > schmoe, all on my flipside stepping. I gotta work on my flipside pixie sets though, so that I can start hitting these bsos! :)

I've been sick since Saturday night though (after the musical's final night). I didn't get a chance to shred yesterday because of that and I'm missing school today as well. Hopefully, I'll feel better by the end of the day, so maybe I can get in a bit of shred on the "day off."

Yeah, I haven't kicked with you in a while, but I'm still sick today, so I couldn't shred with you and Jon today. Hope the shred went well!

I felt a little better today and we had a free day during band, so Kyle, Dane, and I kicked during that period. Although we were in pants, I had my G6s on and Kyle had his Lavers on, and we just messed around for the 50 minutes. Towards the end, we played HORSE, but we didn't have time to finish it. We messed around with some doubles and triples (!) stuff though and we planned a little bit of what we want to do for the V-Show. Somehow, I came close to mullet while wearing pants, so I'm pretty excited about that!

We're in a dillema though, because apparently, we're not supposed to use recorded music (only live music) for the V-Show, unless there's no way for the music to be performed live. We've already had a few songs in mind, but now, we gotta think about live music and stuff like that. Hope it works out in the end...

That's a lame rule if your "talent" doesn't involve playing music. I would ask if you can't just use recorded stuff. If your talent show is anything like the one we had here though, 90% of the stuff is just people singing/playing an instrument.

Ya, I agree that it's kinda a lame rule, but if we end up having to use live music, we'll just ask some of our friends to play for us!

I kicked with Kyle and Jon last night for about a little longer than an hour. It was a really great session! I decided to try flipside spinning osis and hit it within a few tries. Then, I hit spinning osis bsos first try!! It felt so good, because I have never hit spinning clipper bsos (I've always come close), but the spinning osis bsos came so easily! Also, my flipside stepping is improving a lot! I started many runs with schmoe, sidewalk, or ripwalk, all from my flipside. I also got kinda close to smear > toe torque and some other combos! Oh, I forgot to mention that the last time I kicked, I hit stepping far legover > tapdown > run! That felt like a cool combo too!

Anyway, I'm probably going to end up shredding some more today and tomorrow, since it's the weekend! :)

I kicked for about 30 minutes in my friend's basement yesterday and it actually worked out pretty well. I hit schmoe bsos for the first time ever!! It felt pretty easy, so I'm really happy about where my flipside stepping sets are heading. I also worked a little bit on my flip pixie sets, but they didn't seem to improve much. I should (hopefully) get a chance to work on them today, since Jon, Jeff, Kyle, and I are planning a big shred later on in the afternoon! :)

I just had a 2 hour session with Jon, Kyle, Jeff, and Chris and it was awesome!! I felt completely in control of the footbag today! It felt like I could've done anything I wanted to! I think that's a good sign! Anyway, I was surprised to see that Chris has gotten a lot better since the last time I kicked with him, and same goes to Jeff. I was hitting really long runs that felt really smooth. I had this one run starting out with ducking clipper > osis and later on in the same run, I hit that on the other side. Not too hard, I know, but it felt soo smooth and the entire run was guiltless too!

I also footyed spinal tap (atomic ss torque) many, many times! I finally had to stop because I was tweaking my ankle up too much! I had it off of my foot so many times, it was just soo frustrating!! I also hit schmoe bsos again, and I had a run that started with pixie ss clipper > symposium whirl and in the same run, I hit sidewalk on my strong side and schmoe on my flipside! It felt really cool! I hit flipside diving osis for the first time and it was just so easy (almost easier than on my strong side)! At the end of the session, we had a Rippin' Run contest between us (Kyle had to leave early for church). So, it was Chris vs. Jon and Jeff vs. Me. Jon won his and I narrowly won mine. Then, I went against Jon and ended up winning. It felt pretty cool to do that! Overally, today was a great session!

P.S. I forgot to mention that last session, I got close to ripstein a couple of times!

I haven't updated my blog in a week! Well, my gymnastics season started last Monday and ever since then, I've been too tired to shred afterwards. The conditioning and everything is so hard on the body. Anyway, my goal this year is to make it to the state meet again. Also, this past weekend was the girls' gymnastics state meet and it's held at my school. So, the guys had to help set up all the equipment and stuff. Because of that, I've spent about 20 hours setting up for and helping at the state meet! It was really fun and exciting though, so I was fine with that.

Anyway, now to the shred part! I kicked for about an hour and a half with Dane and Jon today and it was an awesome session!! I'm finally somewhat happy with where my game is right now and I'm becoming more bothsided everytime I play! Here are some of the stuff I hit today:

Highlights:
ripwalk > sidewalk > ripwalk > osis > ducking clipper > ducking clipper (drop)
tapdown > blur > run
phoenix > ripwalk > run
stepping far clipper > osis > ducking clipper > schmoe > run
spinning osis > ducking clipper > run
ducking clipper > spinning osis > run
pixie legover > magellan > run

I finally hit that ripwalk combo (ripwalk > sidewalk > ripwalk). I've been trying to hit it for a while and everything just clicked today! I'll post some more later! :P
