Mike Hansen has been meaning to make a blog for a while but hasn't done it yet. So, I decided to help him out and get it going for him. I harvested information from a recent IM but the older stuff (more than three days old) is gone. :(

If anyone knows what he has been hitting, please post it here. I'm sure he won't mind. ;)

Months ago, don't know when:
8 contacts of spinning clipper > gyro clipper (rpt)

Jan 23:
Working on stepping sets
23 strong atws (the most he has ever done)
7 attempts ending in my first paradon in awhile
Flip fear > atom smasher

Love, Emily :)

Thanks Emily (and everyone else for the comments).

I'll try to keep a detailed log of my sessions. One of the things that I really want to work on that I've always neglected is just some of the more technical double-dex links. I think that is one of the biggest things hindering my game (well, that and my stupid clipper which is getting better).

My legs are pretty sore today from tennis yesterday.

Ted stopped by today! His ankle is a lot better now, and we are going to kick tomorrow at 1. That should be really good.

Will write more after tonight's session.

He knew that I couldn't do that combo -- it's too physically demanding.

On a less gross note, it looks like Ted and I may be going to Venice Beach tomorrow to kick with Chad, Pinkus, and Dave M. ;-]

Well, Ted and I didn't get to make it out to Venice since doing so would have abandoned Caroline here in Claremont. So, we just had a session here -- it's been quite awhile since we've done that.

It was the first time Ted had played since he broke his ankle last month. He was a bit rusty to start out with, and I could tell that the ankle was still a little tender. But, he was playing much better during the second have of the session. Some things that stick out: fairy ss double pickup on his first attempt and magellan > pixie legover [rpt].

I think I played okay. I hit smear > flip atomsmasher for the first time which felt good. I footed atom smasher > atom smasher on my only attempt which made me feel a bit more confident with my atomics. In the next week here, I'd like to hit tap > atom smasher [rpt].

I also hit blender for the first time; I'm slowly figuring that one out.

I was telling Ted how I had never hit PS Whirl as I was attempting it, and right as I finished saying whirl, I caught the bag on my clipper and set it right back up to me ;-] I won't complain about a new 5. I tried whirlwind just for kicks right after and footed it.

Other interesting things: flip dbl switch over and phasing gyro legover, and spinning dada

I've been playing tennis on Tuesdays and Thursdays so I don't shred very much on those days. Once my body gets used to playing tennis again, I'll start kicking everyday.

Hopefully, I'll have another session with Ted this weekend, but that might not happen since I'm taking part in a 96-hour team math competition.

Until next time...

Heh -- not quite, but almost. I think we plan on getting about 5 hours of sleep the first 3 nights and doing an all-nighter on the last.

We've completed our first 10 hours, and it's gone pretty well.

You know you're legally insane if you're awake for 72 hours? (That's what I've heard anyway...)

Wow... it's been a long week. The math competition went pretty well, but I only managed to get like 7 hours of sleep over the course of three days. I was pretty wiped at the end of it.

I didn't play much footbag at all during it, except for one instance. I was getting little antsy at around 5:30am Monday morning since I had been up all night. I decided to kick around the bag a little bit and somehow hit blurry whirl on my first try! It was the second time ever I hit it -- the first was with Jeremy at one of the FR filming sessions. It felt really easy and was super-deep. So, I was pretty pumped about that.

I had my first real session tonight and it was awesome! I played for about 2 hours and managed to hit a few new things.
-gyro dlo both side :D
-swirl > swirl (thanks Jeremy)
-spinning butterfly swirl for the first time in a long time.
-5 vortexes (first time I've hit them in a long while)
-13 contacts of merkon > no plant clipper [rpt]
-flip inspinning osis

I got close to flip mobius, but didn't manage to hit it. I was going to drill it for the last 20 minutes, but decided not to since I found a nuclear set. It is still pretty inconsistent since it tends to hit my support leg. I was able to hit p tap and muted p tap and footed sumo and matador.

Footbag is fun! Hopefully I can get ahold of Ted tomorrow.

CSS in two weeks!

Spinning Butterfly Swirl :o , that is such a pretty move. I've been trying to hit that for years but I can never get the timing down for it :? . Also nice job on the gyro dlos and blurry whirl :D

I had a short session this afternoon. Mostly drilled some tiltless stuff. At the beginning, I took one attempt at each doing consecutives of the following 2 add moves:
-55 strong mirages
-24 flip mirages
-26 legovers
-18 and 23 atws (I'm not sure which is strong / flip)
-62 strong ss clippers
-23 flip ss clippers

I got quite a few really nice nuclear sets and hit sumo which felt really good. Maybe I'll have a little session later this evening.

I've been sick these past couple days so haven't played too much. I did hit matador, nuclear osis, nuclear ss osis, and nuclear ss pickup.

Hopefully I'll feel well enough to play to day. Leaving for CSS on Thursday!
