Well, holy crap. CSS was one sick event. Most everything ran pretty smoothly, and I'm pretty sure everyone had a good time (and if they didn't, I haven't heard about it yet. Now, as for the results....

Mad props to David Clavens for being the 3rd person ever to win a CSS (all of the other have been either Lon Smith or Ryan Mulroney). Huge thanks to Sam's No. 3 for hooking us up with tons of coupons and dee-licious food, and Breckenridge Brewery for hosting our Friday night players/registration party. We had some great ammenities for absolutely no cost. The Embassy Suites Hotel were AWESOME; everybody loved them. The rooms were great, the hotel was super nice, we had a sweet shred space and a great hot tub. Amazing. Also, Ready, Willing & Able screen printing experts, for being super nice, and doing an amazing job on the t-shirts at such a short notice.

My dad, Joel Barnes, for being super supportive, and fronting me the money for the t-shirts and letting me pay him back.

CSS 7 - Wrap-up
I went to work to see the schedule and some stupid chick asked me how my"little hacky sack" thing went. Well screw her, it went frikken amazing.
Hands down one of the best events I've ever gone to, with so few errors in planning that I really can't bitch.
I loved every minute. Thank you so much Steven for hosting a sick tournament and for being one of the coolest people I've met in a long time.
I'll write a lot more later.

To everyone shredding outside St. Cajetan's on Sunday, especially Kevin Regamey:
I stupidly left my copy of Freestyle Reality outside by where Kevin was filming me trying numerous attempts at ludicrous moves. It was a great pleasure meeting and shredding with everyone.
Im already looking forward to next years CSS.
I would love to sit hear for hours and hours talking about how much fun each day was and how cool every single person was but i really dont have the time right now, i will post a detail day to day explanation in my personal blog one day.

CSS7 Was a blast! Big thanks to Stephen Barnes for rocking this weekend big style!

First off: The Embassy was the best host hotel ive ever stayed at. Ive been to 20 or so footbag tourneys and there always tend to be some problem with the host hotel: it usually ends with the host swearing to never hear the word footbag uttered again. Lets face it: we party huge at tourneys, but The Embassy was all about it. Every staffer I talked to there mentioned how our group was fun and easy to deal with. They gave us the back room near the spa to shred apart for all hours of each night.
Thanks also to Brad Kaplan with the van hookup, thanks to brads friend at the car rental shop for basically giving us a 12-seater van for the weekend!
Some of the coolest things that happened:
On the way there lon and I had a stopover in Pheonix, and guess who steps on the plane with us? None other than Ken Somolinos! Totally unplanned and cool.
At the sick 3 competition, Lon hit his sick 3, which would have probably been enough to win. He even decided to quit with 2 tries left. The crowd goes: "nawww", Jim says: "Marius, Mobius, Mobius". Lon busts it, and finishes on a back stall
Last man standing got even me to compete, it was alot of fun and quick, cant wait to see this video.
Late Saturday night, I loose my crew...drunk and hungry i decide to cab it to a diner. (Cant remember the name now...) I got out of the cab seemingly miles away, lost as far as im concerned, and who do i see chillin in the diner? Daryl, Sunny, Jim, and Red...random and very cool
Sunday: for me this is 4-square day. One of the main reasons I came out was to represent our game and run the 4-square comp. I spent the morning signing people up and we ended up with 16 players, at $5 a pop, that made a healthy $60 1st, $15 2nd and $5 3rd place prizes. After some rules clarifications, the game was on and ran smoothly, in fact it was some of the best, most *sportsmanlike* playing ive ever seen. (and I designed 4-sqaure to be controversial for fucks sake!). It was excellent. Steve owned even though Emily opened the finals game with a 7 point early lead. Peter took 2nd and Chad 3rd. I got to play 4-square practially all day with all sorts of different creative and hilarious opponents. Pure laughter for about 4 hours.
Sunday night we got back to hotel just in time for last call on free cocktails. The bartender said we could only leave the bar with 2 drinks at a time, but since I wanted more than 2 drinks he said, ill just put your other drinks behind this sign, come back and get them at your leisure. So sweet. This led nicely into bar snack food fights at the tables.
Next thing we were up in one of the rooms and trying persistantly for over an hour to get a 14+ person circle to get a ceiling hack (everyone had to pass to a niehgbor off of the ceiling) this included 6 or so people seated on the couch and chairs. We were so determined and hardheaded that we eventually got it and the room erupted in cheer and glory.
The whole weekend was like one big high.
On monday we had a lazy day at the civic center park. I even got some people to join me in a few rounds of footbag golf around the greens. I had a good laugh at the local security SUV zooming around the park (he felt very cool in his SUV...it was apparent) making sure people dont fall asleep and coming over to ask Kevin to get out of the tree he was fiming shred from. We joked about being careful not to get sleepy or the security guys would see us from their binocs and notice our eyes starting to blink for too long...next thing you know youd be accosted by some guy yelling out his SUV window while driving in circles around you.
So then it was time to go, and it turned out the Emily was on the same flight with us on the way to pheonix...unexpected and super cool!
Thanks everyone who went for making yet another footbag tournament something never to forget. I had so much fun meeting all of you! Footbag is the best.
