What exactly does it mean to toe scuff?

I thought toe scuffing meant when you take your foot, bring it forward, and bring it back grinding against the bag and the bag sort of flips onto your toe.
But I saw my friend today mount the bag on their right foot using their left by dragging it over and onto the foot. And it made me wonder.
Which is it? Neither perhaps?

Toe-scuffing is like you said before when you snap the bag off the ground and onto your foot. Toe-dragging is, well, dragging on the floor.
Anyway, don't let the terminology get to you. Both of them are always ALWAYS detrimental to a bag's life (crochet even on some occasion). Never do it. Use your hands, and tell your friends to use them.

I've been meaning to ask about that pic for a long time now: Is that the pancake treat with the chestnut and bean paste filling inside? If it is, I love those. One of my favorite snack time treats of all time.

A growing number of people will tell you that it's a bad habit to roll a bag from the ground onto one foot with the other foot. These people are being reactionary and extremist. I have a 3 year old abshire bag which has seen hundreds (thousands?) of hours of play, and has survived thousands of toe rollups. The bag has never blown a stitch, and no panel has ever developed a hole.
Edit: But actual toe scuffing is the Devil's work. Strictly for cheap crocheted bags, don't ever do it with a freestyle bag.

I agree-but...there are the kids who think you need to apply as much pressure as possible to get it onto your foot-this causes holes. I watched a newb literally stretch a freedom bag to double its size using the toe roll onto other toe method.
You've gotta be gentle. It also dirties the bag more though
Good argument. It's easy to imagine that rollups can damage the bag, so it's easy to believe. I've never owned a 32 that needed repair other than cleaning, and have done thousands and thousands of rollups. This is good enough for me and my lower back.mosher wrote:Just use your frigging hands people!
How can you be so mean to your bags??
You sound like Rev Lovejoy's wife on the Simpsons. Won't somebody PLEASE think of the footbags!
