Spiders

Post by Lackey82 »

I'm curious to know the strategies people use to deal with spiders.
Personally, I don't like them, but hate killing them even more.

ive been bit about 5 times by brown recluses, and i dont care either way what happens to them. if theyre in my space, they get smashed. if theyre just chillin somewhere, i leave em alone.

my wife hates bugs no matter how many legs. so they all die in her presence

If they are on me they die. Anywhere else (including chilling on the walls and roof of where ever I am) and I let them mellow.

Recently I've been seeing a few spiders by my computer that web themselves down from the ceiling. I think its pretty amazing how unique spiders are. I usually let them be or if they are too close I just flick them away.

I almost always relocate them if they're just in the house, but yeah they scare the shit out of me so if they're on me I'd probably smash them.

I dunno. I just feel bad if I kill something that I know I didn't really have to kill. I get to feeling bad knowing that I ended somethings existence because of laziness.

If the two of us can co-exist, then I'll let it be. But if it's going to get in my way, or make life difficult, I'll re-locate it.

But we've got geckos running all around the house, so I don't think spiders live that long here. Except for the stupidly big ones.

I take two piece of tissue paper, bunch them up and crush the spider(s) between them as fast as I can. Then I throw the bunched up spider away as fast as possible. I hate spiders.

I used to kill just about about any bug in my line of vision. I have since seen the error of my ways. Now I let 'Greg Nelson' do it.

If I don't see them at first they'll freak me out. But if I know the're there, then I'll let them chill. If a friend has one as a pet, then I'll pick it up and let it crawl over my hands, same with ladybugs. Normally I would kill them!!

If there's a spider of ANY kind ANYWHERE in my house I either kill it, or scoop it up and put it outside. I hate spiders..*cringe*. AND, if I know it's a brown recluse - I don't care, I'm killin' the fucker. I've seen what those things can do to you 8O .

I usually spray it with deordorant. rofl.

Its the worst, when you get out of the shower, and inside your towl is a large huntsman, and it jumps off the towl as you begin to dry yourself.
Hopefully back one day.

Or when there is a White-Tip in your school trousers and you put them on with it inside... 8O

8O That would either be killed instantly, or I'd run away and never step foot in the room it was in until I know it is dead. And I would still be creeped out about it and stay away.

With spiders not of enormous size or not on me, I let them be or relocate them. If one's on me, I freak a little and flick it off...might kill it, might leave it be depending on my mood or whatever. If one's huge, I kill it eventually.

Sometimes I play with them...haha. I played with one on the side of a pool one day by dropping water beside it, and it got up on it's back legs and stuck it's front legs up in the air like it was gonna punch me or something. I was cute/ funny in a weird way...

That's highly unusual given the fact that brown recluse bites are rare. They do not often bite, unless bothered in some way, thus the name 'recluse'. Also, reported bites have occured mainly in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and California. You may have been bitten by a southern house spider, which looks a lot like the brown recluse and is indiginous to your area.

i know for sure 3 times it was brown recluse. went to doctor. two other times, i just had the hole from the bite.it could have been that house spider tho....

i got bitten twice at wrestling practice, in the mats is where the spiders were... its wet with sweat... and in an old old oold elementary school gym..... like built in 1975 ish.

and the others were in my trailer, like in the bathtub or corner of my bedroom, under my bed... something like that.
