RCS IN DA CLUB
Bump! Jesus!
Been taking a 4 day break from shred so I can get used to this weather and get other stuff done. Luckily, since I didn't go shred or anything today, I caught a call. I have an orientation for Toys R Us tomorrow. Hell yis!
I wrote a bunch of challenges for me to hit before OR on the 4th. Its a pretty epic list. Lots of BOP challenges, then some shuffle stuff. Oh yes. It is going to be a great summer, indeed!
U.S. Open! Hopefully Intermediate shred 30 and sick 3!

What up, blog! Let me grab some lunch before I sit down to tell you about what's going on in my personal world of footbag.
So summer finally started a couple weeks ago and since then I've been playing about twice as much as I did during the school year. The weather has been fantastic, so Justin and I have been playing about twice a week, with me squeezing in a solo session if I can. It's a little strange as during the school year I played once, maybe twice a week - never solo - and I made a ton of progress. However, now that I'm playing more often I'm feeling that my form is more consistent and I'm still making a fair amount of progress. What's more, it affords me the opportunity to practice new concepts; something I haven't done since last summer. The drawback of course is that I have to really be on the ball in terms of poignant icing, yoga, and the like. I've been working my upper body out a lot, just doing crunches, push-ups, and using a couple barbells I have kickingg around. It seems like this is helping a fair amount. It's interesting to think about footbag in terms of a proper training regimen... as we don't exactly have one. It seems like most sports like soccer and the like have certain exercises, drills, etc. for people to practice that are fairly commonplace (correct me if I'm wrong), yet we don't. So it's almost the standard for players to devise their own regimens. The advantage of this is likely that players are less held down by tradition and are able to adopt regimens that suit their game and body type more. Yet, at the same time, some players may not know where to begin in terms of training, and some may not know when they're going too light or too hard to maximize their potential. I'd like to dedicate this summer to figuring out what works best for me.

As for my game, I recently switched back to Laver's after shredding in g-units for about 5-6 months. The transition back has not been nearly as hard as I figured it would be, thank god.
Lately I've been shuffling a LOT and really trying to increase the difficulty of my links and the density of my runs. I wish I could share some of the stuff I've been hitting lately but it honestly doesn't seem that dope to me. Hopefully over the next couple sessions I'll have some interesting combos and new moves to hit y'all up with. Oh, and Justin has a TON of footage and no firewire cable. What a travesty. At the end of the summer we'll probably throw something together.
