LMAO!
And about the president. I respect his position. I have to. But his policies, his administration... I disagree with them big time. Also, I completely disrepsect warmongers that wage their wars so they can line their's and their friend's pockets with money... And warmongers that war only to be looked up to as a good person...

Hahaha oh man this thread has given me so many things i wanna say. Firstly i wanna address the France/US/Bush bashing.
2. Can somebody please, please tell me why the US refuses to acknowledge other countries lack of support for their "war on terror"? Germany didn't back the war, but do you see people slagging them off on internet forums? Or in public for that matter? Why can one find a plethora of anti-France merchandise, but look for an anti-Hans Blix shirt and there's nothing to be found? Could it be because France are an easy target?
I think this topic should be discussed in another thread, it seems it has gone rather off track. So, back to the topic eh?
P.S. sorry about the long post, and thanks for reading
1. Just because the French government didn't support the US, why are you generalising about the French people? I'm sure there are French people who did support US action in Iraq (e.g. Le Pen). Don't sink to racist slander to justify your point of view.Jammer wrote:Our current monetary system was forumlated at the end of WWII, though the US didn't drop the Gold standard. Instead of being a 'federal reserve note' dollars were 'gold reserve notes'... meaning you could 'techinically' cash in your dolalrs for gold. When a recession hit in the 70's, the US kindly asked nations not to cash in thier currency, since we didn't have the gold to back up its value. Who else but GOOD OLD FRANCE decided "HunghHungh! Ve are ze French! Let us crash ze stupid American's economy by trying to cash our dollars! HunghHunghHungh! Hey, is this my snail or yours Pierre?" And that is another reason why France sucks.
France- undermining American interests since we saved their helpless frog asses for the second time in a century.

You took the words right out of my mouth. I couldnt agree with you more.Bijan wrote:I'm pretty sure most of the world does not like the United States very much. I'm not kidding when i say this - you have NO idea what you're talking about. You shouldn't post in a post like this when you are so badly mistaken. I'm sorry to be harsh, but i really feel strongly about this. Do you know what President Clinton's IQ was? It is reportedly 170+. Now compare this to George Bush's IQ. Wanna take a guess what it is ShredStylez? 91. The lowest score of any president for 50 years. Where's you "intelligent" president now?ShredStylez wrote:"just the moron president" is a little dramatic for a person as intelligent and powerful as Bush.
Whilst i agree with you that it is undoubtedly better to be in the position priviledged countries like yours and mine are in, i think you've also got to realise that it should be the aim of such countries to ensure that there are no "prison bitch" countries. It's like saying witnessing a murder and saying "Doesn't matter, at least it isn't me".BrianW wrote:think of it this way...would u rather be the us who is very powerfull and almost impossible to take over. or would you rather be a crappy country who cant fend for himself and gets kicked around like the prison bitch. you should be glad you live in the us.

I think it would be cool if there was a barter system like there used to be in alaska. You woudl go to a store, and trade say a coat for a pair of boots. but then the problem is who decides how much the coat is worth? and wut if u dont have a coat to trade but u do have shiny metal?

The good news is that out idiot president doesn't actually make any decisions, and actually has no idea what's going on. It's the terrible trio of Rumsfled, Cheney, and Ashcroft. Oh, wait, Carl Rove too.Just our moron president
If I hear any more fucking slander about the French I swear to fucking god I am going to fucking kill someone! I AM SO SICK OF FUCKING AMERICANS BEING RACISTS BECAUSE WE HAVE A GOD DAMNED NAZI ADMINISTRATION THAT LEADS THEM AROUND LIKE SHEEP!
LMAO!I'm freakin sick of people always bashing president bush. Whats has he done?[/quote]
-attacked a counrtry with no defense and killed over 4000 cicilians
-Cut funding for EVERYTHING to get tax cuts for rich people
-thrown "suspected terrorists" in solitary confinement in military prison
-Destroyed 30 years of environmental progress
-mixed church and state despite obviously not believing in god
-pissed off the entire world
-turned idiots into anti-French racists
-GOTTEN HALF OF AMERICA SAYING NUKULAR BECAUSE THEY ARE FUCKING MORONS
Just to name a few things.
Oh, and the paper money system may seem silly, but it's practical. The idea of solely electronic currency scares me a little, because what if errors happen? What if the power goes out on a server tower place thingy whatchamacallit? THat scares me a little.

Ok ok.
I agree that the US government is corrupt and all, but i take personal offence to the statement that because im american that automatically means im "racist" and that im being led around like a fucking sheep. I hate the united states government, hate the president, hate the whole cowboy, trigger happy, racist ideals, but not every american is like that . You have got to look at this as a country of individuals, and not a country populated by only the president and his idiot staff

Well... Electroinc money is scary. If someone hacks into the system, or something like that, how many people get fucked? The paper/coin monitary system is a good thing, really... It's a little safer.. but prone to get lost... (I could have sworn I had another $10...).
as for our president: He wants to pass something like this; if you make more than $22,000 or so, you can then be considered an "executive." That means you don't have to get overtime if the employer wants to say fuck you to you.
^--another example of how he wants to kill the poor
As for the french: I agree the anti-french sentiment is a little absurd... But as for a casual joke every now and again, that's fine. Such jokes could be about their army. But I digress... our president managed to get a bunch of people with IQ's lower than his (a good 1/3 of the population I'd be willing to bet) to believe anything he says. It's some shit, ain't it? (I want ain't in there damnit, fuck you!)

hahaha thanks man, but truth be told i could probably tell you very little about Australia's politics aswell. I think you find (quite understandably) that people in other parts of the world are often quite clued up about American politics because it often ends up inpacting on their lives, whereas nothing Australia does is ever gonna matter 'cause we've only got like 19 million people! I would say also, that it's probably easier to be a vocal opponent to the US government (i.e. in the media) when you are not in the US, therefore we find out alot more about the other side of the arguement (not to say that many American's don't understand the case against the war, cause they obviously do).Anonymous wrote:I agree with most of what doylie said, i find it interesting that people in austrailia know as much about whats going on in the US. THat's so freaky I was looking at a 20 today and thought to myself...it's just paper with a number...Rob wrote:Perhaps I'm the only one to notice. But we are trading peices of paper as though they had some sort of value. "It says 100 on it, that means you gotta give me alot of stuff." That statement sounds absolutley retarded
I'd also like to add if you think about it, money determines almost everything. I know that sounds extremely basic and stupid but think about it. If we didn't have money, Bill Gates would be just another guy, if we didn't have money anybody could buy a crazy tricked out car, if we didn't have money the world be crazy though. There would be so much relying on trusting society, people wouldn't be paid to work, you would like volunteer. Although money causes many bad things, think about the world without it, I'm just in a trippy mode tonight.
And I'll further the whole conversation to say that paper or paper-like things in general determines almost everything..I'd also like to add if you think about it, money determines almost everything.
You graduate high school and get a piece of paper...
Tests and then their results are communicated on paper..
The mail.
Then college graduation gains another piece of white stuff for ya.
Your pay check.
The resume you wrote so you could get the job that pays the check.
Bills.
TV Guide.
Newspapers.
Magazines.
Concert tickets.
I could do this list all day.. Paper things (including money). We're slaves to the paper things. Damned paper things.

If u find something better to write on, i'll gladly change
However, money is slowly becoming obsolete. When you go to a bank, and ask to see your money, they dont show u money. they show u a computer screen. I'd be willing to bet that in 30 years, there is no more paper or metal money

There still is a barter system in the U.S. It's called barter fair, and basically it's a huge hippy gathering that roves around trading illicit substances and anything you could imagine. The fuzz can't mess with them because some dreadlocked marijuana guru gained religious status for it. The main item for determining intrinsic value is still green though.
check it out at www.barterfair.org

"Far out in the uncharted backwaters of the unfashionable end of the Western Spiral arm of the Galaxy lies a small unregareded yellow sun.
Orbiting this at a distance of roughly ninety-two million miles is an utterly insignificant little blue green planet whose ape-descended life forms are so amazingly primitive that they still think digital watches are a pretty neat idea.
This planet has - or rather had - a problem, which was this: most of the people living on it were unhappy for pretty much of the time. Many solutions were suggested for this problem, but most of these were largely concerned with the movements of small green pieces of paper, which is odd because on the whole it wasn't the small green pieces of paper that were unhappy.
And so the problem remained; lots of the people were mean, and most of them were miserable, even the ones with digital watches."
