I meant to crouch with the support leg.

I think the key to the mystery of left legover being better is that you right is strong and it is the suppor leg when you do a legover. My right cliper is worse that left because my left leg doesnt have that balance.Counting that right is strong

Bad session

Post by forgetmenot220 »

Worst session that ever was last night. No focus, no balance just pure frustration. There are a number of reasons I could offer for such a bad session, but I won't even bother.

Going to try and kick again today before I go back to Champaign for a weekend of partying and kicking with Eric and the girls from my house. Hopefully I'll have better things to report.

Goals: remain the same

Happy kicking,
Tricia

Long time coming

Post by forgetmenot220 »

Woah it's been a while since i've posted here.... It's also been a while since I've kicked.

I had my first session today in a number of months. I had to take some time off after my dad passed away and then again once I started doing some hard core theatre. I was really afraid to step back into the circle after being out of it for so long, but it was really fun. We kicked outside on the quad despite the cold weather. I was kinda rusty on my flip side, but after a while I started making some progress. I also hit "pickup" both sides (not sure if it should be called a toe-pickup or not..) and my first three add move (Can't think of what it's called- hitting a mirage and never putting down the your set foot). I only hit it once and I"m sure it was pure luck, but it was a really cool feeling when I hit it. By the end of the session I was able to put a couple "pick-ups" into a run, so all in all it was a good day.

Well, that's all for now. I'm not really sure when I'm going to be able to kick again. I open a show this Tuesday that runs for the rest of the week and a lot of hw due. But next week is Thanksgiving break, so I"ll def. get some good session time in then.

Can't wait for New Years Jam!

Goals: Work on "pick-ups" and clipper stalls, Drill flip side leg overs and mirages.

Happy Shredding,
Tricia

im really happy that youre coming to nyj! having a shredita circle is gonna kick so much ass, considering ive never kicked with a girl.

doing pickups with your toes is just called "pickup". and mirages that you dont plant your foot are called "symposium mirage". symposium because you didnt plant. its the same way with other tricks you dont plant. symp mirages looks really weird. you should work on illusions while youre drilling the 2 adds.

im really glad youre getting back into the game. i hope you stick with it and improve a lot. we are at the same level right now and thats super cool. im excited to see if you improve by nyj. i thought you were doing clippers and butterflies at midwesterns... what happened to that? is it just because you took a break for a while or was i just imagining that you were good?

either way you should keep posting. get involved again. there are never enough girls that stick with this sport. im sorry about your dad. just keep in mind that youre not alone and there is always support when you need it.

ps. you know those red plaid lavers you had? brian bought me blue ones!

I don't believe so. I've only ever seen a couple clipper stalls from her, and she's never really worked on them before. Hopefully she will tho!

Glad to hear you are finally admiting that you will come to NYJ and kick there. I knew you would come, even if you weren't yet sure. Anyways I'm getting excited already.
