Arthroscopy
Arthroscopy
Hello. About 7 months ago while I was doing barfly for the first time I injured my knee. Nobody knew what happend to me. I went to 5 doctors. They all were saying different things. Finally, I went to the hospital. I had arthroscopy and it turned out that my lateral meniscus is broken so they had to cut out part of it. I also have wasted articular cartilage. Did anybody had same thing?? Did you could play footbag again??
Andada,
Cartilage tears and ligament tears are complicated things. There are a lot of factors that play into how well you will recover. For the Cartilage (meniscus) tear, a couple factors are : Location of the tear & severity of the tear. Not all of the meniscus is vascular (supplied with blood) so that means not all of the meniscus heals the same. Hopefully your tear won't require surgery and if it does, you'd probably already know because they did an arthroscopy to see what was going on. Again, there are a couple factors that play into the lateral ligament, but for the most part you should be able to play again.
What type of rehab have you been doing ? Any type of bracing to take lateral pressure off your knee ? Hopefully you'll get a full recovery and if not you'll have to modify your game or not play at all if it doesn't recover well. Most younger patients tend to recover pretty well. Goodluck.
