I loved it that you posted those pictures, but let's fight anyway.
Could you either e-mail me a larger version of the pictures or send them on a CD? Duncan wants them in the highest quality possible, and so do I.
So I still haven't posted about my San Diego Sunday. I've been pretty bad with keeping up this ol' blog recently. I'm just going to take some clips from an e-mail I sent to someone about it. Yes, you're getting the leftovers from someone else's candlelight dinner.
-It was raining lightly, cold, and grey for just about the entire day. Great first time in San Diego.

I told our guy at the stadium that it was my first time in SD and he said "Well,
you're never coming back."

Our contact there treated us really well. He got Aaron's girlfriend in at the last minute so she could take pictures and video while we demonstrated, he made sure we had water, coffee, or anything else we needed. He also stayed with us almost the whole time while we were demonstrating/teaching kids.
-We all wore red Duncan t-shirts. Mine looked like this:

and theirs looked like this:

During the event some guy asked me where I got my shirt because he really wanted one. His son's name is Duncan. I have this

shirt too, but he wasn't as interested in it.
-When we were on our way to the park we called to find out where we should park. He told us to go to a specific lot and tell the attendant that we were the footbag players. The attendant was very nice and sent our three cars to the right place; VIP parking for free.

We arrived at the VIP entrance at 9:30am. The park gates didn't open until 10:30am so we warmed up a little bit and got used to the bags. We modified a few of them and made them heavier because for a while it was windy enough that the bags would be blown around while we were playing.
-We were outside at the bottom of a hill. I don't remember the name of the area, I think it was something like "Park within the park." There was a mini-baseball field and a lot of people sat on the hill to watch the game. We played on the large walkway below the hill. There was a ton of foot traffic. We were supposed to demonstrate some, but mostly get kids involved and teach them how to kick. We were able to teach some higher level kids how to do toe stalls too. The bags were given to kids 14 and younger at the door. We demonstrated/taught from 10:30am-12:45pm. He told us were to get food in the area so the four demonstrators plus camerawoman went to Subway. The park hot dogs are about $7.50. We got back around 1:30pm which was enough time to digest before going on the field and demonstrating for about a minute and a half, which is what we were told us we were going to do between the 4th and 5th inning. We asked to wait inside because it was cold outside, so he brought us to the lunch room where there was coffee, juice, soda, and water for the taking. Also a TV so we could see what point they were in the game. I had hot chocolate and it was grrrreat.
-The only bad thing was that even though it had been mentioned where we were going to be playing on the field, we didn't know where to go once we were out there and had to ask another employee on the field. So we wasted about 10 seconds of what was supposed to be a minute and a half, but the four of us were pretty sure it was closer to 45 seconds. We were still smiling and played in front of about 24,000 plus the people watching on TV (assuming we made it to tv). We played two and two instead of four people playing in a circle. I could hear some people in the audience nearby cheering for us. They were also shooting t-shirts into the audience at the same time, so that might have helped.

-After that, we were done. We could have stayed, and I'm sure our guy would have found a good place for us to sit, but none of us felt like watching the game.
-It was a fun atmosphere, there were lots of people to play in front of and teach, and we were treated very well by the park.
In case you ever get a gig, try remembering some of these handy questions:
-Will you cover our lunch?
-Is the hotel pre-paid? I know I need to have a credit card with me for incidentals so they can get an approval, even if they don't need to charge it.
-Instead of staying in a hotel room, can I pocket what you would have spent and stay at a friend's place?
-Is the rental car pre-paid? Will I need to have a credit card with me? (I found out the hard way that I needed to have my flight print out from home with me. I had forgotten it, but had a phone buddy give me all of the information. That didn't work for them, I had to get the airline to fax over a copy of my itinerary.)
-Will you pay for the gasoline expenses?
-Is there anything we can improve on for next time? (Their answer is usually "Nope.")
Tonight I played with Fletch, Dustin, and Max in the study room at UCSC. The nerve in my right leg started to hurt in an impressive way during the session so I just worked on osis for a long time since that didn't hurt me at all. I got 12, but was hoping to get more than that. It was still fun.
Oh yeah, and I added a pic at the top of the page. Maybe it doesn't speak to most of you, but it spoke to me. Probably because I watched
way too much tv as a child. Night Court anyone? Harry the magician Judge, the perverted lawer, Bull etc.
I'm really tired. Good night.
