Had another pretty good midnight session with Cassy at city hall! Not too many highlights, but I think they're exciting:
- Torque > Blur > Legbeater, New sick 3!
- Ripwalk > Ripwalk x 5
- Ripwalk > Ripwalk > Sidewalk > Blur > Double legover [Drop]
I worked more on quantum tonight, and randomly hit like a toe swirling set by accident, which could be very cool when I can hit stuff out of it. However, after trying a couple of those leading into Ripstein, I think my lower began to hate me, as it is pretty sore as I write this. After these last couple sessions I'm actually beginning to feel like I'm good at footbag, lol.
Confidence has been a big issue for me throughout my footbag development, especially when playing around much more experienced players. But I feel that slowly beginning to fade away. A couple of months ago I found myself in a circle which included Jorden Moir, and Tom Mosher, with about a hundred people watching to boot. I couldn't bring myself to do anything interesting, due to nerves. However I found myself being more comfortable at the last journey to Toronto, especially around Tom. I'm just need to remind myself that footbaggers are generally very open minded, and I won't be made fun of for dropping, wheras in most sports riddicule would be inevitable.
I'm hoping when it comes time to face off with the greats in open competition, confidence will be the last thing in my way.
