So lately I've been throwing a trick thats a butterfly but with no plant.

SET >> (no plant while) OP OUT [BOD][DEX] > OP CLIP [XBD][DEL]

I was looking around and I didn't see Symp Butterfly anywhere so I was wondering if this has a name or if no one bothers doing it?

Not only is symp butterfly a stylish trick it is also a great component to learn. IMO don't worry about the adds unless you are competing in shred 30 (but even then you could always use your symp butterfly skills and whore up the adds with dada-curves :P )

It's not symple, it's symposium. But he's right, for some silly reason it doesn't get the add.

I just experimented with outside stalls a few days back and I can't seem to figure out what this is called.

It starts as a legover, but instead of a toe delay, it's an outside stall then I drag it with a sort of an osis-like spin into xbod position so it looks like a dragon stall.

I tried my best to explain it.

Thanks

miraging p torque = blurry torque/quark (quantum torque)
downtime is impossible, unless it is symposium

And for the record, symposium butterfly is a 4 add move!

symposium butter = "3 add"
symposium atomic clipper - 4 adds

???

Unless you plan on arguing atomic cannot receive a symposium add, that (in the most basic way) proves symposium butter 4 adds.

Two possible things i could think of with the condition that you are doing the osis-like spin while stalling the bag:

1-Refraction dragon - if the dex is hippy (what it is probably)
2-dyno dragon - if the dex is leggy

Dragonosis is much like osis - starting on outside and going to xbody during the stall like you are saying so it all depends on where you are dexing the bag.

Adam

EDIT:
And for the record, symposium butterfly is a 4 add move!
I was under the impression that like symposium stepping (pogo set) it was ruled too easy for the sake of adds, however it is stylie. 3 adds.

IMHO it's not all that important whether or not symp butterfly is a 3 or 4 add move, what matters is that it is ultra styley move 8)

Thanks, Adam.

The dex I did was leggy, and I've tried it uptime and downtime. It's easier for me to pull off the spin and the delay if I do the dex uptime, so I went with that.

I'll give it a try with a hippy dex, but it'll most likely have a downtime dex. I can't hit a hippy dex uptime yet.

I'll give Job's a try, but I'm not quite used to it yet so some errors may occur. Corrections are freely welcome. :D

I believe I've heard the phrase "add's count the number of elements within a trick rather than the difficulty of the trick" uttered more than once on this forum.

But anywho, <3 the styley-ness.

Yeah.
The oldschool add system is very flawed.
Of course symposium butterfly is 4 adds. Good call.

On footbag.org certain unusual 1-add stalls get "UNS" but not "DEL", and are clearly wrong, because a stall is a stall. I think it's, like, moves above the legs, like, forehead stall gets UNS, but not DEL (according to .org), though I'm not positive about the exact moves, but you get the idea.

I think that gives you an idea of the accuracy of traditional Job's Notation...
A stall doesn't get a stall add = a symposium doesn't get a symposium add = nonsense
